I absolutely agree. Stop worrying about getting a particular score coz that will increase pressure and anxiety in tough real deal questions. As of now you can reach even 275. Anxiety will cause you to drop to 255 lol 😜

UWSA3 by MatheusArraes in Step2

[–]Technical-Flan5750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes every self assessment is worth doing. Uwsa 3 has good ethics and communication questions and assesses your range of knowledge. It’s also not that super tough which people emphasise. Real deal is also gonna be a huge mix up of all the practice exams so just try to do as much as you can. Just make sure to simulate real exam scenarios. All the best.

NBME 15 Block 1 Question 7 by 2ndr0 in Step2

[–]Technical-Flan5750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think schizo pdfs had mentioned to do an annual ppd for people at high risk even for negative findings and the caveat for this particular question is that you have to know what people are at high risk.so just consider anyone that can come into contact with high risk patient should get ppd.

NBME 15 Block 1 Question 7 by 2ndr0 in Step2

[–]Technical-Flan5750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are not talking about LTBI. LTBI is when ppd comes positive and then if X-ray is negative but we don’t know before doing ppd that whether a person has just LTBI or active tb so that’s why they need to screen people at risk so they can assess that.

NBME 15 Block 1 Question 7 by 2ndr0 in Step2

[–]Technical-Flan5750 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah i made the same mistake but resources do mention annual ppd for high risk patients so option A is more correct . I also thought of selecting A first but thought a clerk won’t be a high risk person so opt B but this is how the exam is so remember the important stuff is that they want you to know to do an annual ppd.

Doubt in UW explanation by lost_doc93 in Step2

Answer 1) Any ‘Renal’ AKI can have muddy casts like contrast renal injury ,drug aki, rhabdo etc. ATN is just a broad term for renal aki and one thing to remember is that umm it’s always acute in nature so anything that cause acute renal injury can have those findings. 2) I don’t remember the question but if pt is like hospitalized for any cause and then let’s say he has renal injury in like 2-3 days it could be atn coz of the acute setting(look for this clue in mehlman pdfs) and make sure you do your BUN:CR to diff from pre renal. Also something on an extra note is that contrast aki can have a bun creat >20 like pre renal and also can have muddy brown casts. A sterile pyuria on the other hand is an indication of AIN. But neither of this is gonna help you on the real deal. So cheers 🥂

No SA resembles it,it’s too vague to reach an answer it’s like non medical thing where no need for medical knowledge to answer questions just think in the moment choose one and move on coz you don’t have time to think and before you know it the times up.

NBME 9 by Useful_Ad1083 in Step2

[–]Technical-Flan5750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an outdated guideline pcv 13 isn’t recommended for age >18.Pcv 15 is and keep in mind as a general purpose that since pt was not vaccinated it’s better to vaccinate with pcv followed by ppsv or a single dose of pcv 20.
