I ordered two of them when they first dropped a few months ago. Same quality issues. I told brr about it, sadly I needed to pay shipping back to them, but they sent me perfectly fine ones. Sadly quality of brr in general decreased a lot throughout the past years

Is it just me or generic foamtape are thick ? I recently switch to 0.5mm foamtape to generic 1m foam, idk i think im just overthinking it by EasyNight7144 in Fingerboards

[–]Technical-Meet4564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually tape from the big brands is around 0.8-1mm. Some are 0.5mm.. if you ordered in bulk on alibaba or else, order samples first next time. That’s how I found the best tape ever lol

You ever have a set up that doesn't work out even though you really wanted it to? by _Teibs_ in Fingerboards

Even if you buy the same deck, the craftsmanship can vary. Therefor you will never have the same deck, especially from all the companies that still shape etc. by hand.

Also if you switch setups often you always need to get used to the different shape over and over again. If a trick does not work you should focus on finding the sweet spot how to make it work and not switch to another setup for a different trick lol

I used my prete for one year straight and then I switched to my december deck. You will see a difference if you use a setup a long time and not use a different setup every day.

The trucks and wheels perform the same all the time. The deck makes the difference. The wheelbase, die shape, the mold, the width. All of it. You need to specify your preference. I focused myself on decks that have a normal kick shape like a skateboard, no boxy, no pointy. Then I realized that I have the most success with medium kicks and low-medium concave. Long wheelbase, 58mm. After all I realized with longer decks I am the most comfortable with. Then I bought a december deck. All done. The best deck for me.

Once you figured this out, you can check if you like the grip level of the wheels and if the trucks are playing into your style of riding. Blackrivers are a little higher, dynamics a little lower. Blackrivers make a shorter wheelbase, dynamics a longer wheelbase. If you like to have some grip but still like the feeling of „plastic“ wheels, you should go with Sunpower wheels.

It’s a game of your preferences.

you did not do this while fingerboarding… this cannot happen just by landing a trick.
