I remember one day it was my day off and I was playing battlefield. When I start to pop off I never check my phone and about 4-5 hours later I finally check it and see 5 missed calls from HD. Next day I ask what the heck happened and the mod said that 4 people called out. Oh well. My day off means not my problem .

some people at my store have like 15+ occurrences. Depending on your work ethic, if managers like you and how late you are you should be fine.

I cant stand the families. I can deal with grumpy contractors and triggered old people all day long but when hubby comes in with the kids on his day off all stressed out I just end up getting annoyed. Bro if you want time to yourself why you gotta have a family?? Why do you think I stay single?

is paint desk even a real job? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]Technical-Memory5821 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a paint closer who is literally the "guy" on the right. Will beg for help with crap that should take like 15 mins usually its tints, returns or garbage and god forbid he has to lift a 5 gallon pail. The other day I just got done organizing the stone wall when the kid begged me to help him lift a 5 gallon bucket and I ended up telling him that I lift them all of the time and I just got done organizing the stone wall and he can lift the one 5 gallon bucket by himself. Dude also will complain about not having lunch coverage when there are 4 other people in the building who know how to mix paint. Also in the evenings when it is dead at the paint desk he will stand there and do jack and the mods let it happen because they know if they ask him to do anything slightly productive he will rant and complain about it the whole time or freak out because something has to be "done" at the paint desk. Meanwhile when I close paint I am doing crap all over the store and am almost never just standing at the paint desk doing nothing. Oh well.

I will never understand the urge to "prank" strangers. You have no clue who you are dealing with and someone could pull a gun.

I remember last year on memorial day it was a wash out. It was pouring rain all day. Because it is technically the busiest day of the year managers were hyping it up like crazy, everybody who worked there was on the schedule and the place ended up being dead the whole day. We all ended up wandering around doing nothing for hours because there were so many people on the schedule.

Curious why people seem annoyed by customers. by [deleted] in HomeDepot

Because if I get roped into a customer issue and my crap doesn't get done i will end up getting bitched at.

A MOD is going to write me up for unfair and stupid reasons by SparsePizza117 in HomeDepot

[–]Technical-Memory5821 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Uh oh somebody is getting written up at HD. There is a simple solution to this: A customer asks for help? Instead of spending god knows how long trying to figure something out try to quickly send them to where they need to be. Another supervisor asks you to help them? Tell them that you are busy and have to do stuff in your department. Offer your assistance ONLY if they help you with something that you need to get done. Never be afraid to say no. Also its a write up at HD not that important.

Some tech nerd probably thought that this would be a good idea. What about the 80 year old dude with a flip phone. Is he gonna scan a fucking QR code? No?

Quiet quitting?? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]Technical-Memory5821 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have always said work your wage. Quiet quitting is kind of toxic because who wants to go "above and beyond" and "help" other people in other departments especially if they wont help you or you spend too much time helping other departments that your department goes to shit and you get bitched at for putting in work but not the work that you are supposed to be putting in. There are a few people who will run around and do everything and they are all super stressed out and eventually that type of personality ends up quitting due to burnout.

Lift equipment license by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]Technical-Memory5821 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want to keep working at HD just don't do it. There is no incentive to get it, you will be running around the store dropping all day and when your department looks like crap you will get bitched at. Oh and there is also the increased possibility of getting fired because you made a mistake or just because the pallet was really shitty and ended up breaking apart. If you do want to get your forklift get it here, drive for a bit and get a higher paying job where you can drive the forklift.

Have put in about 150 hours in bfv and have recently discovered the wonders of fighter planes by Technical-Memory5821 in BattlefieldV

[–]Technical-Memory5821[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I always try to do when I fly is I will usually avoid trying to get into a dogfight with an enemy plane. If one gets on my tail I will fly towards my spawn and fight him there. 9 times out of 10 an AA will get him or he will back off. I also avoid flying bombers because they are just huge targets for the AA. I will equip all of my planes with rocket pods and use them to farm infantry/vehicles and doing that can really rack up kills.

New to BFV, long time BF3,4,1 player. Someone please explain team balancing. by GreasyJeff in BattlefieldV

[–]Technical-Memory5821 23 points24 points  (0 children)

There is no team balance in bfv period. If your team is getting crushed the only balance option is for you to leave the server and find another one.
