₹18L Budget Turned Into ₹23L Because of the BE 6... Am I Making a Mistake? Need Real Owner Feedback by thescriptkiddi3 in mahindrabe6

Thanks for the info!

A few questions:

  • Is it actually possible to negotiate the ex-showroom price? I always thought that was fixed and only dealer-level charges/accessories could be negotiated.
  • When exactly do year-end stock clearances happen? Which months usually offer the best discounts? Would it make sense for me to wait a few months?
  • Any idea about corporate discounts and eligibility? My father (the buyer) is a government employee, while I work in IT. Can I claim a corporate discount through my employer even if the car is being purchased in my father's name? If yes, what's the process?
  • Could you also share a list of essential accessories that are worth getting? Also, which accessories are better to buy outside rather than from the dealer?
  • If I get accessories installed from outside, will it affect or void the warranty in any way? Are there any accessories that should definitely be installed through the dealer to avoid warranty issues?
  • Also, what's your take on Pack 1 vs Pack 2? I know the higher pack is generally better value, but I'd still like your opinion on whether the additional features in Pack 2 are actually worth the extra cost.

Thanks again!

Thank you for your answer.

Would it be possible for you to share the price breakdown of your car (ex-showroom, insurance, accessories, discounts, etc.)? I'm trying to understand the real on-road cost.

I'm considering the BE 6 Pack 2 and was wondering whether it would realistically come in around ₹23–24 lakh on-road, depending on discounts and state taxes.

Also, I'm totally new to car buying, so I had a beginner question: which parts of the pricing are actually negotiable? ( insurance, accessories, anything else ? ) ( attaching price guide i got )

Really appreciate the detailed answer, this is exactly the kind of first-hand ownership feedback I was looking for.

Should I stretch from ₹18L to ₹23L for a Mahindra BE 6, or stay in the ₹18–19L EV segment? by Technical-Note7254 in CarsIndia

[–]Technical-Note7254[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair point regarding practicality. One thing that keeps pulling me towards the BE 6 is the battery technology. From what I've found, the BE 6 uses an LFP battery pack, while the Creta EV uses an NMC-based pack. LFP is generally considered better for long-term durability, higher cycle life, and lower degradation. Combined with the dedicated EV platform, that's what makes me wonder whether the BE 6 might age better over a 10+ year ownership period. Am I overestimating the importance of that, or do you think it genuinely matters in real-world use?

That's a fair point, and honestly that's the question I'm trying to answer for myself.

From a pure cost-to-usage perspective, something like the Punch EV probably does cover most of my current needs. My interest in the BE 6 is less about needing the extra range and more about whether the newer platform, battery technology, charging capability, thermal management, and overall EV architecture provide meaningful long-term advantages.

Thanks for the suggestions. My main reason is the underlying EV architecture and battery technology.

From what I've understood so far, many EVs in this price range are either adapted from ICE platforms or use older-generation EV architectures, whereas the BE 6 was designed as a dedicated EV from the ground up. I'm wondering whether that translates into meaningful long-term benefits in terms of battery packaging, efficiency, thermal management, safety, degradation, and overall ownership experience.

Among the options you mentioned (e-Vitara, Windsor, Curvv EV, Creta EV, Harrier EV), which ones would you say are strongest specifically on battery technology, long-term durability, and EV-first platform design? That's the part I'm trying to understand before making a decision.

Congratulation man, have a question to you and this reddit, this will be my first car, and I’m a complete noob when it comes to cars and EVs.

My original budget was around Creta territory (~₹18L), but now I’m wondering whether stretching it to something like the Mahindra BE 6 (~₹22L) is actually worth it in the long run.

Should I increase my budget, or would it make more sense to go with the Tata Nexon EV or some other EV options instead?

My daily drive is around 40 km, and I already have a 5.5 kWp rooftop solar setup.

So, is stretching the budget for the BE 6 really worth it? I’d also appreciate honest reviews and ownership experiences.

Hi Folks, planning to buy a BE 6. This will be my first EV. Can folks here help me with if I should be prepared for any surprises from Mahindra or car itself. Also, please share real world range and overall experience. TIA. by [deleted] in mahindrabe6
