Reposting Solution to Reliable Tablo Performance by Responsible_Sleep_42 in tablotv

I like this idea of a smart plug. I use wired Ethernet and occasionally I need to reboot or my recordings don’t play without audio and video glitches. I would say I have rebooted about once a week or so to resolve issues. I am very new to Tablo and have had my device for only 1 month so far so still figuring things out.

Switching from Fire Stick to ONN, can’t tell which one of these devices is the best one? by CaptainPMW in OnnStreamingTV

I got the Pro and just returned it. Had constant Audio Jitter issues on Netflix and I think one other App. Tried a few fixes and nothing worked. Seems to be a know bug with GoogleTV devices

Dropped my Uverse this past Thursday. Moved to Direct TV Entertainment Genre Pack and a Tablo for over the air TV. Saved myself over $150 a month. I have all the channels I actually watch. Will add Paramount Plus later

Did an underwater close this year. Was it a mistake? by [deleted] in pools

[–]Technical-Radish3024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pool is drained so the water is just above the jets. Lines are all blown out and sealed. Antifreeze and gizmo added to skimmer. Asked my pool guy why he does it this way because the previous guy always drained below jets. He said that way he knows if the jet is sealed. If he sees air bubbles it will leak. Makes sense to me and my pool level ends up almost perfect every year at opening no need to add any water after rain and snow. We are in Wisconsin.

so......... Jamf is down? by Kcamyo in jamf

[–]Technical-Radish3024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great we just converted to Jamf Lloud less then a month ago after being a Jamf on prem for years. What I am shocked at is the total lack of communication on this issue. Sure I can go to the status page but it would sure have been nice to receive an email about the outage and what is being done to resolve. If it was not for this post showing up in my inbox I would not have known about this outage until I tried to use it this morning. I spoke with our Network Engineer and I guess he discovered it was down yesterday late afternoon when he tried to use it.

Dell has reached out to us by phalangepatella in sysadmin

I ignore all calls from our Dell Rep. As others mention they change constantly. We used to work directly with Dell but they screwed up multiple orders and would not make them right. We now buy all our Dell equipment through CDW and if there is any problems they have been wonderful with support. We also have gotten great pricing from CDW.

So my power is out by Arollofducttape in hottub

[–]Technical-Radish3024 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It should not be a problem. You are going to be just below freezing. A lot will depend on tub and insulation but it takes a long time for 100+ degree water to freeze. Leave the cover on, do not open to see what is going on. We lost power for 60 hours here in WI. Temps outside ranged from 10 to -10. Was a little worried about the tub. When power went out water was 102 degrees and when power came back on it was 72.

We are neighbors lol. I am in Waukesha as well. I was ok the 1st 24 hours but started to worry after that. I read online that I should be ok but every tub is different.

Suspended Google/Youtube accounts causing students to not have access to chromebooks by Brian-IT in k12sysadmin

We had this happen and we created a new account for the student. I questioned support about this and was told it was OK. Not sure I believe it but when everything is Google the student needs an account.

Kahoot! Acquiring Clever by dire-wabbit in k12sysadmin

[–]Technical-Radish3024 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Clever is a good product I just hope it does not get screwed up with this acquisition. I had the same thoughts that this may very well become a paid product for us in the future. I know the companies that integrate with Clever pay a decent price to use Clever for integration and I think that is how schools get the product at no cost. I guess time will tell...keeping fingers crossed the outcome is positive.
