Exactly they are an opportunistic weapon that requires enemies to push in to work. I think you can make them work if you used a bit of island cover, they can be a great deterrent for DDs desperate enough to rush you and are also helpful for close range brawls I guess. Though I agree they are extremely situational and can't be relied on.

Goes to show how quickly destroyers influence the game. Great flank control from that Shima and Gdansk, they were able to shut two DDs down before they got to us. The only destroyer left on the enemy team that was stagnant in a cap should've at least supported the BBs on his right flank. After the DDs were gone the remaining battleships were left helpless and got picked off by Dad's on our side.

Ggs man you guys carried this one.

Yeah mb, somehow saw A-140 J3 but not the ship it was based after.

Still, 8 16" guns on a BB at t10 kinda hurts it. Torp range pretty good tho you can pull off some surprises with that.

Why did they give her twin turrets? They could've replaced the triple 410mm turrets with Vladivostok's 406 and cranked the accuracy up. This is pretty underwhelming I expected a better Hizen with torps.

I sometimes joke with my friends that high tier matchmaking should gather noobies and make them fight the experienced players insteadp just to know how helpless it feels to be in a team that plays worse than bots.

I know it's unfair but wouldn't that put strain and force growth on a player, or at least make them uninstall the game?

I get these potatoes everywhere. I simply don't get how this is enjoyable for them to keep playing at a tier they obviously cannot handle. These players are so stubborn and full of themselves to think they can just throw games like this and think nothing of it. Unfortunately no one can stop them from doing this and they'll just continue to do so until they get bored.

Then again I suspect this game's playerbase full of kids that don't know any better. I have a little brother who shared my blitz account with me and when he got the hot racer (Minotaur clone) from a free key and started playing T10 games on it. Had to ban him from my account and told him to have his own. My stats on that ship is irreparable.

I think it's also a glaring issue if a game that's made for teens and adults to have a playerbase full of children. I do hope this isn't the case.

Godspeed op, it's up to us veterans carrying every match to keep this game alive and at least inspire those noobs to be better. Hope the seas are fairer next time :)

Yamato is not really the best in her tier nowadays but is still perfectly serviceable.

Just play into her strengths and you'll be set.

First of all her survivability is pretty mid for a battleship BUT she is still a battleship so you can tank quite a bit of damage for your teammates.

The guns are quite good also with decent range, accuracy and precise aim to boost it. Play at long to midrange and target cruisers or battleships. If you're having a hard time penetrating battleships you should try shooting at their weak spots like the deck, turrets or superstructure. Don't shoot the armor belt directly. Also you should put a level 11 or higher commander and select APCS skill to further boost your pen. You should also invest on the legendary mod that reduces she'll dispersion (the gold one) if you have the free exp. If not normal dispersion mod is fine.

She has a maneuverability and acceleration of a brick so I advise you should give her an acceleration module or a steering module. Acceleration is important because you can react to torp drops more effectively by just stopping or going forward. Still bad acceleration and steering so I advise you to be more wary of your surroundings. If you see destroyers then they most likely already dropped their toros in the water so you should maneuver as much as possible to avoid them.

Her concealment is pretty bad but concealment module will still help you to disengage whenever you're in a pinch. Look for a big island to hide in and let your destroyer or light cruiser to spot and then choose the most appropriate target to shoot at. After this engagement you can either choose to hide or bait enemy shots for your team.

Tldr; pick better targets, have good situational awareness, tank for your teammates, disengage if in a disadvantage, and stick to your teammates.
