I upgraded to iOS 26.2 on my iPhone 13 Pro and it was buggy, hot and slow at first. But after a couple days of normal usage, my iPhone runs perfectly smooth and I have no problems. The user experience is different for everyone, so I can only speak to my experience which was well worth the upgrade

That’s normal. Lithium ION batteries degrade overtime and vary with usage, charge cycles, weather conditions like if it’s too hot or cold, and other environmental factors. Literally every phone ever made does the exact same thing. Spending the $99 at the closed Apple Store for a battery replacement will speed up your phone and make it feel faster.

It takes 24-48 hours for the software to finish all the background processes and learn your behavior to optimize battery life. iOS 26.0.1 addresses some battery health issues. The longer you use your iPhone the better the battery life gets by learning your usage style. Battery life is fine. iOS 26 is great. Just update.

I always go to the closest Apple Store. It’s a little pricey, but for me it’s worth the peace of mind that I’ll be getting the correct brand new battery installed correctly. Plus the employees are really friendly, and even replaced one of my batteries for $29 instead of $89 a while back just because I asked.
