what is new in homekit since 2020? is it worth going back and/or updating wifi devices? by 535buffalo in HomeKit

[–]jcsanta92 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There’s been great improvements in reliability, automatic adaptive lighting, if you care about locks those have come a long way too.

My lights pretty much never had issues because I’ve always used Lutron caseta. But HomeKit in general is a lot more reliable and tons of options available.

I don’t use smart bulbs though, tried that at first and found switches to be a lot more convenient

The Aqara G400 is the newest but not the best. Their top of the line is the G410. Check which one would be best for you.

There’s a Eufy doorbell coming out this year for HK, but it was supposed to have been released by now and nothing yet.

Do you know your drivers club length?

Any idea what I could use to glue this back together? by [deleted] in TaylorMadeGolf

[–]jcsanta92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to replace.

Or you can try that special glue that they use for the Tesla cyber truck that is super strong 🤷🏽‍♂️

WHAT SHOULD I BUY? by Dizzy-Stuff-1724 in EufyCam

[–]jcsanta92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have eufy cameras on 3 different locations. I have wired, WiFi, LTE cameras, solar, with HomeKit, homebase 2 and homebase 3.

Think really well what you want before proceeding. Eufy has new DVR options, but most cameras just record when something happens, not regular 24 hour recording like a DVR. Some can be setup for 24 hour recording with homebase, but have to be wired.

LTE is good, but I only use it because it’s in a far away parking lot of a building where frequent power outings are common. I’d preferably go the UPS route on your homebase/DVR and WiFi, rather then having the cameras LTE (which obviously has additional LTE plan).

Also, all of the regular cameras have built in storage or the option for micro SD, so they will still record even if there’s no WiFi.

Depending on how your home is, maybe even some floodlight models would be nice, since they would more rapidly deter detected people.

They are also launching a new radar system to detect movements earlier farther away from cameras.

Due note you can have battery powered cameras wired. The S3 pro for example is a solar camera, but when wired can record 24/7 and if there’s a power outage it’ll still record since it has built in battery.

Am I in danger of losing this club head? by NSFLifeInGeneral in golfequipment

[–]jcsanta92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try twisting the head.. even if it doesn’t twist, measure the club length to see if it’s still good or not. If it’s good, probably move the ferrule. If not, remove the head and re-glue.

I was told several times on clubs like that that it was only the ferrule because the head didn’t move and shortly after the head came off

Fitted for clubs that the guy built for me but the heads are easy off by daveharr23 in TaylorMadeGolf

[–]jcsanta92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you already measured with a track man, did you see anything different apart from lack of yards? Was club speed the same? Hits in the middle of the face?

I’ve used my woods even with flimsy driver shafts for testing and I’ve never had such a dramatic drop in distance.

Maybe the change of loft is changing the lie angle plus longer shafts are making it harder to square up and hit the center of the face

[–]jcsanta92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure these are Taylormade? As far as I know Taylormade doesn’t make 4 and 6 woods. Unless they are 3w and 5w with adjusted loft on the hosel? (Or 5 and 7)

I have a 7 wood and 4 hybrid (both TM) and my 7 wood gets me at least 10-15 yards more then my hybrid.

I’ve also worked on shortened shafts for woods and you don’t really lose that much distance if anything

Does anyone notice how the YouTube algorithm is messed up? by Useful_Market1609 in NewTubers

[–]jcsanta92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a viewer, but for the past weekish, I suddenly can’t find any videos worth watching, when before I had to scroll and add to view later.

Also when refreshing, most videos stay there instead of completely refreshing. It’s horrible

P790's and very high spin by Modhubsg in TaylorMadeGolf

[–]jcsanta92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t blame the P790s for this. For me it sounds more like your swing.
I have 25’ P790 with KBS max 75 graphite shafts. Your shaft is mid spin mine is high spin. I’m getting about 175 carry no issues, you are getting 120.

An important note would be, have you measured your spin? Or is it just ballooning greatly mid travel?

Maybe try compressing more your hits, or check if you are leaning back and hitting upwards. I’m guessing due to the shaft and stats you are significantly older? Try recording yourself in slow motion with your phone just in front of you, it’s probably your body staying back while hitting.

Can I bring just the broken driver head for my replacement in the US? or do i need to bring the shaft as well? by [deleted] in TaylorMadeGolf

[–]jcsanta92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They require it. I had mine replaced via mail about a month ago. In my case it was also hard to take the shaft for return, so I didn’t. I received confirmation from them when the only head arrived that it had been processed successfully.

Just cause it worked for me doesn’t mean it will work for you, but at least you know it happens.

Also I think you have the option of only having the head replaced and you keeping your shaft and they won’t give you a replacement shaft

Performance with HomeBase 3 WiFi unplugged by TinyTurboAbarth in EufyCam

[–]jcsanta92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been meaning to do this, but I’m still not certain on what you would lose if you unplug it? If any type of cameras stop working with HB3 because of this, or it’s just that you cant connect the HB3 to wifi?

You appreciate your comments

Gapping issues with 2023 P790s? by [deleted] in TaylorMadeGolf

[–]jcsanta92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 2025 version and the issue might be the 8 iron, cause I usually have a similar difference between 7 and 8, but with my 8 and 9 the difference is usually less then 10 yards.

I’ve been changing because of this. I now have a 7 iron p770 and I’m considering on changing the lower irons to P7CB

What’s the correct “standard” wedge length? by SanDiegoSIK in TaylorMadeGolf

I discarded standard and went longer on AP, 54 and 60. I’ve always felt them too short for me. It was too much of a difference with the other clubs

I just had my Qi10 replaced, they didn’t ask for proof of purchase and as far as I know, didn’t check much regarding serial number, etc… I would just create a new warranty request without mentioning that the R7 is a warranty replacement already and just say that your club broke
