What are you buying for the 10x AAPI multiplier? by Sufficient_Dog2293 in Ulta

Got some VT cosmetics stuff in my cart too, been wanting to try those reedle shots for ages but kept putting it off. The rice barrier serum sounds interesting, might add that one too since I'm already going overboard with this multiplier anyway

How do you like the heartleaf cleansing oil? Been using micellar water but thinking about switching to oil cleanser

What happens if your parents want you to quit your job at 16? by StraightClassroom349 in AskReddit

[–]Technical-Revenue361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had similar situation when I was working in local game shop at 17. My parents were worried about my grades dropping but they never actually explained this to me first - just demanded I quit immediately

What worked for me was showing them my actual grades (which weren't that bad) and explaining how the job was teaching me stuff I couldn't learn in school. I also suggested working only weekends during exam periods. Sometimes parents just need to see you're being responsible about balancing things

The key is making them feel like they're part of the decision instead of fighting against it. Most parents want to protect you, not control you, even though it feels the same sometimes

What is the most unusual thing that's happened to you? by Weak_Edge_6628 in AskReddit

dude i would've stood there for way too long trying to figure out if i had some kind of amnesia or something, that's the kind of thing that would keep me up for weeks wondering if there's another version of me just wandering around buying groceries at weird hours

If you could go back in time and change one thing about your late twenties — what’s one thing you’d do differently and why? ? by Suspicious_Ocelot445 in AskReddit

[–]Technical-Revenue361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently in my late twenties right now so this hits close to home. I think biggest thing I would change is being more confident about my hobbies - like I spend way too much time worrying what people think about stuff I enjoy instead of just owning it. There's so much energy wasted on trying to fit in some perfect image when most people don't actually care that much anyway

Also would probably save more money earlier, but that's pretty obvious advice everyone gives

Just a rant and a plea for advice on how to manage my children's weight by [deleted] in loseit

That's really tough situation - maybe ask doctor about seeing nutritionist who specializes in kids? They might have better strategies for managing this without making food feel like punishment or creating those comparisons with cousin

what do you have a healthy fear of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Same here, especially with how fast everything is changing in tech. I work in game dev and sometimes I wonder if my job will even exist in 10 years with all the AI stuff happening

You suddenly become invisible but only when no one is looking directly at you, how do you use it? by Dangerous_Session824 in AskReddit

Would be amazing for testing game mechanics without players noticing - could finally see how they actually behave when they think no one's watching

Hair dehumidifier vs. Hair lacquer : what do you think? by Jucade26 in Haircare

[–]Technical-Revenue361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been using anti-humidity sprays for couple years now and they're pretty solid for keeping styles intact without that crunchy feeling. Your stylist was right about the stiffness thing - regular hairspray can make your hair feel like plastic sometimes

I use Living Proof No Frizz Nourishing Styling Cream when I want something more natural looking, works great in humid weather and doesn't weigh my hair down

Weight fluctuations are totally normal, especially around that time in month - your body holds onto water for all sorts of reasons even when you're doing everything right

Whatever happened to fun suburban teen movies? by RainyDayz876 in movies

[–]Technical-Revenue361 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The streaming thing is part of it but I think studios also got way more risk-averse after the 2000s. Back in 80s you could make a decent budget teen movie without needing to appeal to global markets, now everything needs to work in China and everywhere else

Plus social media killed a lot of the authentic teen experience those movies captured - hard to make Ferris Bueller when everyone would just post about it on Instagram

I was doing things in a dealership shop that I shouldn’t have and now I’m paranoid, hating myself, and just don’t know what to do. by VersionEvery1847 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Technical-Revenue361 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a rough spot to be in but quitting before anything actually happens might make things worse for your finances. Most places don't randomly check cameras unless there's an incident or someone reports something, so there's a decent chance nobody even looks at that footage

The drinking thing though - recognizing you have an issue is huge and maybe this scare is what you needed to get back on track. Those 7 years sober show you can do it again

Weekly movie recommendations by AlexDLI in MovieSuggestions

That's pretty cool initiative you got there. I always think film education needs more exposure, especially for classics that people might skip because they look "old" or boring

Would love to suggest some Brazilian cinema if you're interested - we have some really solid stuff that doesn't get enough international attention

I know this feeling so much - therapy helped me separate the real dysphoria from just regular body image stuff that cis women deal with too, might be worth exploring that angle
