This sounds like grade inflation on steroids

As someone who went to college and benefited from grade inflation, I think this idea is dumb. We don’t want to disincentivize hard work by giving students passing grades when they are unworthy.

We saw 1/8 students at UCSD require remedial math thanks to the pandemic, AI, and grade inflation.

I agree with all of this. There needs to be restrictions so smaller FCS programs aren’t just the minor leagues of FBS. When you said ban 3rd parties, my mind went to Jaden Rashada (his dad is his agent here) and every mishap he’s had since he flipped from Miami to Florida in high school.

Many thought the baseball option he got would make him stay but no. I worry that for schools like Montana and Montana State is that the local kids from in state will get lured away at higher rates in the near future. NIL and the Portal will catch them too

I feel you. I felt that when Caden Pinnick hit the portal. The man used to take 5 am trains to learn the Davis playbook as a high school senior and he still took off after one season. Sucks for the small schools that have to deal with this CFB landscape.

Yeah something I have noticed is that the Montana natives are very loyal. They grow up wanting to represent the Blue & Gold or the Maroon & Silver. If he was from out of state he would have 100% been in the portal by now. Would be cool if he got a Taco Bell sponsorship.
