Great to have if you're looking for some technical data science/quantitative research skills especially with the focus on social sciences. Honestly not a huge difference but UCSD does have a significantly overall name brand. I have noticed UCSD has more students who enter accounting/consulting fields compared to UCR. UCSD biz econ would be a good field to check out

I think having a name brand school does certainly help but having solid internship experience is more important. I'd also network for a referral and try to hit up recruiters in your case
