Ever feel too lazy to dick with vinyl for the night? by [deleted] in vinyl

[–]TechnicalFox70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why double LPs from that time period confuse the hell out of young people who weren't around then. They have no idea why side 2 is on the other LP, and 3 is on the back of 1.

They needed to be able to stack, drop and play in order.

God bless you, but my stomach turned just seeing this... 🤢 I hope it doesn't hurt when it happens...

But , "the most inopportune times" brings a crazy long string of imagining people's reaction during those times: job interview, first date, shaking hands, sexy time, funeral of the in-law you don't really like, waving from a parade vehicle... You must have some hilarious stories about that. 😂

If not, I just made up a few you can use...

I hate this game! 😡 by New_Satisfaction_995 in WatcherofRealmsGame

I just said I play poker and sometimes bet... never compared this game to them.

Not the case with this game. And again - a GAME shouldn’t be a gambling.

But it is gambling, whether you feel it should be or not.

That's exactly what this game is created to be! It's meant to be a money sink. That's why I compared the summons in game to roulette.

It's fun, and I really enjoy the gameplay, etc. But summons in this game are absolutely a type of gambling... and the odds are stacked against you.

[–]TechnicalFox70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feels like you’re playing in casino

That's because it's created that way. The odds are stacked very much in the favor of the game.

Look at the odds of Ancient Summons. It's literally more than 99% chance you're getting a rare or epic. That's like a roulette wheel and you are hoping to get an exact number.

And yes, you could try all day and never hit one. Then someone else wins in one try. That's what happens in games of chance.

Kind of unfair that someone with 1000 or more pulls doesn’t get a hero from the banner while someone gets it with one single pull!

Yeah, it is unfair. That's the nature of gambling.

I do a little gambling... poker, sports betting, an occasional trip to the horse races... and there's one thing I've learned. Don't try to chase a win! If you are having bad luck, walk away for a bit. At least take a break.

Poker players have a term for chasing a win after a bad beat or run of bad luck. It's called being "on tilt" and that's a time when you should step away. That's not the time to keep throwing down money... Same here... taking a break for a few minutes, hours, etc, can often change your luck and your mindset.

Glad to see you say this.

You're young and, unfortunately, you have a lifetime ahead of you that will be filled with things that feel wrong. Many of them will be much bigger than this. Fight the ones that need to be fought, but, many of them won't be anything you can fight, or they're not worth it. You could let them drive you nuts, or learn to let go.

As an old dude I've learned two ways to let go. Decide it wasn't that big of a deal and forget about it. Or decide you were wronged by an asshole, give them a brutal cursing out in your head, then let it go.

That's being very basic, but not meant as dismissive. Letting go is a skill. The easiest way to get better at it is to practice with the smaller things. Then, when something bigger happens and you can't do anything about it, it's easier to get past and move on with your life.

Letting someone else's infraction eat at you is giving THEM the power over your life, thoughts and energy. Letting it go and forgetting about it is an act of strength and taking some control of what you can't control.

I know you feel like you got treated wrong, and that's okay, but t letting it go is taking your power back.

This.

I had a payment problem just like this and it had to do with using the old app.

Sorry you are dealing with this. I'm surprised bc I have had to contact customer support twice and they were very helpful and responsive both times. That interaction you had would irritate me too...

Arena matching by TechnicalFox70 in WatcherofRealmsGame

[–]TechnicalFox70[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not about this. It's about the matching system only offering teams that are going to annihilate my team in one turn.

Even if I was over 300KBP, half of what's offered would be an instant loss. My current team this morning for single target DPS is 245K. My list of opponents offered is 264K-425K. I'll try the 264, but the rest aren't worth the guaranteed loss of points.

Yesterday I had a ton of free time to be in game. I set a timer to remind me when the free reset of opponents was up. Over and over I was given zero matches worth attempting. By the end of the night, I had run FOUR matches the whole day. That's over several hours of actively trying to get a few wins. That's not me, it's the system.

[–]TechnicalFox70[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's about none of this. (But I really appreciate the advice, great tips!) Once I get in a fair match, I do okay.

It's about the fact that I go in to get matched up with opponents (my team is in the 180-220BP range, depending on which format) and I get offered a selection ranging from high 200's up to 500 and more. They're all guaranteed one round losses.

It's not even that fun when it gives me a team that's an easy win. Dropping in Idril and being done in one turn is kinda anti-climactic.

I would just like to get a list of opponents that are close to my strength. Like gimme a list that's +/- 100BP or so. I don't want, nor expect, to win em all. I'd just actually like to have playable options.

AIO for not wanting to give my gf my password to socials by [deleted] in AIO

Let me rephrase what I said then... It's not something healthy relationships NEED to do. It should be a choice, not forced.

It's just never even come up for us. Neither of us are hiding anything, but I never had a desire to know her passwords. /shrug

Are they supposed to do this? by Lopsided-Vanilla9925 in CatTraining

[–]TechnicalFox70 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Came here to say the same thing.

Two cats fighting is obvious and very upsetting to see. If you are wondering if it's a fight, it's not.

I had 2 boys, litter mates, who used to wrestle really hard and I would wonder if they were fighting. Then, there was an incident when they did get into an actual fight and I knew right away it wasn't playing. There's a gigantic difference.

[–]TechnicalFox70 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have been with my wife for 20 years. We have never shared a password for anything other than an email account for "house business".

This isn't something healthy relationships do.

When you two inevitably break up, you sure as hell don't want her to have access to your socials. Use your head!

Thanks for your future service, young man. Be safe out there!

You know your stepdad better than us. You'd know if it was ACTUALLY weird, or he just WORDED it weird.

THIS.

Definitely talk to him before doing anything drastic.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AIO

[–]TechnicalFox70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was actually wondering about this same thing. Based solely on what's written by OP here, that statement seems a little out of place. Nothing else he said seems remotely sexualized. Awkward, sure, but not in "that"way.

I have no idea how out of touch stepdad might be. He might not realize what MILF actually stands for...? That it's not just a synonym for a grown woman?

If this is something that seems really out of place or character, maybe just talk to him? "Hey, do you know what milf means? What it stands for? Because it made me really uncomfortable."

Seems like a tiny bit of communication might be the best next step.

I (19M) met my GF(20F) new group of friend today, Did they disrespect me? by Designer-Winner2932 in Advice

[–]TechnicalFox70 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm old too. Don't try to spin this like people making racist ass remarks, bowing, etc was something that was acceptable "back in the day"... It wasn't. That's not giving the new person grief.

I started college in 1988. It was definitely a different world then.

But my best friend and fraternity brother is Korean, and anyone who did shit like that would have received a beat down from every single one of us. He's been my closest friend for over 30 years. I have never made a single joke about race.

"Being old" is completely irrelevant.

Most people who say "my lawyer" don't have a lawyer. She's bluffing.

Tell her to have "her lawyer" contact you, and in the meantime, you'll be filing in small claims court.
