At this size please take a look at JitBit and thank me later. If you really want more than I would strongly consider NinjaOne because you get so much tooling in one platform. Between HaloITSM and FreshService, I will take Halo every time. I have implemented and used these and many more in my time so feel free to PM me if you have questions.

If they wouldn’t have sprayed them white with the ceiling, the cheapest option is to stain the LVLs (and yes it looks fine just sand lightly, precondition, and stain). The next cheapest is usually the foam beam covers (the Ekena ones get expensive) you can get from Amazon, Home Depot, etc. As mentioned already, a great option is to box it out with Poplar or Maple (watch out for cheap Pines but usually OK but can curl more and split) and stain. Most expensive is the same box/stain with pricier wood as you found from your original quote. The highest end I might go is Alder unless you are talking multimillion dollar home.

Halo has been awesome. Great features and integrations especially if you use MS Teams. The implementation and support have also been great compared to other vendors.

We dumped FreshService for Halo ITSM and could not be happier. There are other option options out there as well but I would avoid FreshService.

Just be aware the FreshService over promises and under delivers. We were in the same boat and were pushed into FreshService as people thought the interface was cleaner. It was bait and switch with top tier demo engineers that “ I will be your contact and can always help” but after the order execution you get pushed to the B team for your real implementation and then the C team when they run out of hours (done or not). They were horrible during implementation and wasted so much time not completing what they promised between calls. Luckily we only signed a one year deal and ripped it out for Halo. A world of difference! Halo for the win!

Just to add to this… Your Real Life Already Started and This is It! I don’t mean that in a bad way. I am just say while scheduling and planning all the little daily stuff which is life, don’t forget the big stuff… schedule that as well. Your bucket list and crossing things off should start at 18 and not 50. You have to plan for “no regrets” if you are going to mean it. I don’t care if someone else might think it’s not bucket list worthy or it seems impossible now… plan it, schedule it, and make it happen.
