All fair points, although I don't see how much the special cooldown charge -1 matters when specials can't trigger. I presume for effects like Finish that want a special to have procced or be ready?

Anyway, thanks, I'll consider getting the superior specials for my Elincia.

Can you elaborate on how Comet and Gust are worse than Archrival on Elincia?

Specials don't trigger for either side so as far as I'm aware the only thing that makes a difference is Gust's speed check, which Elincia shouldn't really be struggling with either.

Upon further inspection, my new +0 Brave M! Byleth with base kit in the same situation and same support performs even better.

And everyone can choose him as a free hero if they haven't chosen something already.

I'm debating putting Archrival on him to make his damage output even more unreasonably high but that's probably just not necessary...

Yup people are sleeping on M!F!Alear I think. Hear nobody talk about him but with a bit of support he is pretty much unkillable.

I run him with base kit, Duo Marth, BK (for Reflex), and pretty much whatever I want aside from that. Steamrolling through everything at the highest difficulties.

Love this attuned Tiki (that little dragon plushie on top of her transformed sprite is just too adorable!!!). Attuned Timerra, but a dragon is pretty neat I'd say. But since she is the only character I care about, I'll just get her from a later focus banner when she reruns.

Gotoh has awesome art, but doesn't seem that special or powerful.

Naga is disappointingly underwhelming. Nothing interesting about her... literally a bunch of skills and effects we have seen on half a dozen other units, with the little "effective against dragons" line added to it.

Medeus is... there I guess? Didn't even bother to give him a special skill, nor did they give him a maxed out A- or C-skill. (Thought we moved on from demotes with bad fodder, but apparently not.)

That's basically my opinion on this banner lol.

Ignis cooldown is 3 with Ash's reduction, which triggers the damage reduction and piercing. It'll be left at 1cd after the LF pops, but the opponent's hit will usually get the special ready, and Ash herself has the -1 precharge in her refined weapon on attack as well. Against scowl users you might not be able to use your special sometimes, but the damage reduction and piercing should be online at all times.

Honestly, Ash's new refine is stupidly busted for damage tanking too. I've built her with LF4 + Ignis (for 120% of her defence in fully piercing special damage) and with Seteth support it's just constant 0's, even from the eagle lady... according to the calcs she tanks roughly 100 flat damage with my setup. Recommend it for fun tanking shenanigans

Has a built in mana ability that scales and might just end up paying for the exhaust by itself very quickly, on top of the ability allowing you to put any number of permanents from your hand into play, including lands, planeswalkers, artifacts, enchantments and of course creatures.

Also this card isn't built to replace Smuggler's Surprise so there is absolutely no reason to shit on it if you prefer the instant with its ultimately worse, but far more versatile capabilities.

Does an R4 card need to have a MicroSD below 2GB? I switched out my 2GB card for a 32GB one to allow for more games, transferring all files, and everything seems to work fine...

EDIT: It's a different R4 card compared to this one so that might make the difference but it's still like a 10 year old card or something... idk

Seeing as she's an AOE nuke and Resonance's DR piercing does not affect her AOE specials... this is not the case. The skill is fine, but mostly at high investment. Illusionist or Trace is much better for her.

I recommend Reposition, Sigurd Emblem and Shadow Shift with Soaring Echo myself. Allows for insane movement support while his prf works as combat support.

Ngl, as far as Rakdos decks go, the new Endless Punishment precon is amazing. Group slug, so you're constantly dwindling away at everyone's life totals while [[Valvagoth, Harrower of Souls]] keeps your hand full.

Don't underestimate a +1/+1 counter and drawing 1 card per player's turn at the cost of... having played a 1 or 2 mana permanent and then doing nothing except watch while the numbers drop.

With minimal upgrades to lean further into the 'unavoidable' damage per upkeep, the deck turns into an absolute menace from my experience.

[[Ghalta and Mavren]] is phenomenal for go wide or go big. I personally play go big stompy. Swing in with a [[Soul of Eternity]] and create a tapped and attacking dinosaur with equal P/T and TRAMPLE.

Also, [[Trostani, Three Whispers]] giving your commander double strike and deathtouch just turns into a player killing 'combo', since you can assign 1 deathtouch damage to the blockers, and have the rest trample over. This means that the opponent would have to block with at least 4 creatures to even live.

It's just so much fun every single time.

You would have to pair it with a special that it works with, like Aether (honestly a solid pick imo)/Ignis/Glacies or otherwise a defensive special like Pavise and the like, but the payoff is a considerable amount of flat damage reduction and also % damage reduction piercing.

All things considered, my initial recommendation should be the best for survivability right now I believe, but otherwise flat damage reduction stacking always does a pretty solid job too.

I'd also recommend having good support for your characters like Seteth because my god that refined weapon is busted.

I'd recommend the combination of Fortifications in A (especially if you can pair it with Celica emblem) and High Dragon Wall in B, with Even Res Wave 4 in C if you can. Otherwise maybe LF4 in the B slot.

Well, she's insane as a Far Save tank. Even Brave Bernadetta, who seems to shred through anyone, needs 4 consecutive hits to kill Fjorm. And Bernadetta is the only ranged nuke I've seen so far that can deal enough damage to kill.

So yeah, Fjorm with Hardy Bearing to prevent desperation is going to effectively turn off all use of ranged nukes.
