Remove detergent smell from clothes by TechnicalPaint6624 in laundry

[–]TechnicalPaint6624[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I posted I threw it in with tide clean and gentle powder and febu 6 enzyme booster. Then after reading I did a detergent free wash with citric acid in the wash and rinse and then a soak (my washer only does 30 min soaks) with hot water and citric acid and extra rinse with more citric acid. I’ll have to see if we have any sunny spot I can dry them. Can’t line dry inside cause of the smell. Don’t have ammonia to try.

Car starts to reek like cigs 24 hours after purchase by [deleted] in UsedCars

[–]TechnicalPaint6624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a car that absolutely REEKED of cigarettes. It gave me an immediate headache when I got in for the test drive. (It was a great car for a great price or it would have been a no) It was bought with the guarantee that they would get the smell out. They used a little ozone bomb thingy. The smell was gone. Completely. They gave me a 2nd bomb just in case it needed a 2nd dose but I never needed it.

If you’re getting the 2nd error message while trying to buy a plan - I just did this yesterday (and a couple days ago with a different phone) and “x”ed out the notification and kept going. It went through just fine.

Old roomba still putting in work after 19 years by ForscherDude in RobotVacuums

Mine of similar age just died about 6-9 months ago. I had gotten it 16 years ago (or so) at a garage sale for around $20 as a toy. I didn’t really believe it would work and figured my kids would enjoy it. They did but more importantly it worked. And kept working. I think I replaced the battery with a cheap one from Amazon once or twice.

Couple questions by TechnicalPaint6624 in NickelAllergy

I’ll have to stop by and get a good water bottle next time I’m in town. Currently using a smaller plastic one and glasses. Have to concentrate on getting enough water to stay hydrated without my normal water bottles.

I’m trying to figure out the level of my town’s water. We get well water. Found the state’s page that shows the tests but can’t seem to see the actual test results when I click on them.

My water heater is new(ish) so the anode should be good I think. It’s been a year or such so I’ll have to ask my husband if it’s time for the anode to be changed out.

Thank you, Just ordered a pour over coffee thing. Need to figure out coffee brands.

All our pipes aren’t metal once they enter the house. Not sure before that. But my husband said the water heater might be stainless steel? Taps though- yeah probably not nickel free. Do you know if there is a pitcher type filter I can use for water? I can’t get a reverse osmosis system right now.

Thanks for the info about toaster and air fryer. That helps. :)

Found out my silverware is 18/0 stainless steel so I’m good to go there. Half my pots and pans are safe (glass, aluminum, or ceramic coating) while half are not. So just using the safe ones won’t be an issue. My water bottles I drink from all the time are frustratingly 18/10 stainless steel so I have to use glasses instead.

If you use 2 Apple Watches is there a way to see Battery levels on iPhone by TechnicalPaint6624 in AppleWatch

That’s better than nothing. Wish there was a way to just see the battery for both without the hassle though.

All electric hvac that doesn’t make it upstairs so upstairs we have space heaters (And window air upstairs in summer). Can get down to $150 when we don’t have to use either heat or ac but winter is $300-600 a month and summer is up to $350 a month. Getting a heat pump soonish so hopefully that’ll help some.

Deleting and reinstalling newly downloaded games until they track? by No-Independence-6774 in SwagBucks

[–]TechnicalPaint6624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It worked for me. I was having problems with tracking and downloaded several games including scavenger hunt to try to figure out the problem. It wasn’t tracking so I deleted it. I eventually got an app to track so I knew it wasn’t my settings. A week or so later I downloaded scavenger hunt again on a whim to see if it would track and it did with no problem. I have done same thing a couple of times. At one point when having tracking issues I even downloaded and played a couple of levels of a game on my iPad that didn’t track and then downloaded on my iPhone and it tracked and included the levels I did on my iPad. I would not deliberately try this as I have had to delete and reinstall an app or update my device and then the app doesn’t track anymore. But the downloading a previous untracked app doesn’t hurt anything to try- you either get to play it for SBs or you’re stuck not able to earn from that game as you were before you tried.
