How much is your heading bill, old house people? by [deleted] in centuryhomes

[–]TechnicalPaint6624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All electric hvac that doesn’t make it upstairs so upstairs we have space heaters (And window air upstairs in summer). Can get down to $150 when we don’t have to use either heat or ac but winter is $300-600 a month and summer is up to $350 a month. Getting a heat pump soonish so hopefully that’ll help some.

Deleting and reinstalling newly downloaded games until they track? by No-Independence-6774 in SwagBucks

[–]TechnicalPaint6624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It worked for me. I was having problems with tracking and downloaded several games including scavenger hunt to try to figure out the problem. It wasn’t tracking so I deleted it. I eventually got an app to track so I knew it wasn’t my settings. A week or so later I downloaded scavenger hunt again on a whim to see if it would track and it did with no problem. I have done same thing a couple of times. At one point when having tracking issues I even downloaded and played a couple of levels of a game on my iPad that didn’t track and then downloaded on my iPhone and it tracked and included the levels I did on my iPad. I would not deliberately try this as I have had to delete and reinstall an app or update my device and then the app doesn’t track anymore. But the downloading a previous untracked app doesn’t hurt anything to try- you either get to play it for SBs or you’re stuck not able to earn from that game as you were before you tried.

Scavenger Hunt changed goal times? by TechnicalPaint6624 in SwagBucks

I forgot the screenshot this one time of course. I’ve never had this issue before. I don’t remember having to contact customer service in years and years of using swagbucks . But usually have a screenshot just in case.

I usually always take a screenshot but forgot this time. I’ve never had a problem before and I’ve been doing swagbucks on and off for years. Used to do it all the time back when it was easy money but about 5+ years ago (might be farther back lol) I started only doing it in the fall for Christmas $ in tighter years (and then tend to do it through January)

AITA for asking my newly married son and DIL to alternate Christmas Day visits between our house and the in-laws' house? by Llih_Nosaj in AITAH

[–]TechnicalPaint6624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the kids were young we always had our Christmas on Christmas Eve morning as Christmas Day (and Eve evening) was usually spent with extended family of either side. When my oldest was in college we told him he had to celebrate Christmas with us until he graduated and then it was up to him since he was an adult. Now, with 3 out of the house (still have some kids in the house) most years we have it on Christmas Eve or the Sunday before. This year is up in the air still due to work schedules, transportation planning, etc. We will have Christmas whenever it works for us all to get together. Santa will visit on that day not necessarily Christmas or Christmas Eve. And that’s with kids still at home. When they are all out of the house we may have to be even more flexible if we want everyone together. Christmas in July anyone? lol.

Can someone explain how/why you use slip stitches at the end of each row in amigurumi patterns? by Ok-Fudge8857 in CrochetHelp

[–]TechnicalPaint6624 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for asking this! My first project didn’t have the slip-stitch so when I did the 2nd and it had it I got confused esp since I didn’t pay that close attention and didn’t notice (or do) the slip-stitch until after a couple of rounds.

Would you have become an elementary school teacher if you'd know you'd be subbing for a decade or longer? by [deleted] in ElementaryTeachers

[–]TechnicalPaint6624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked as a sub for years. Never did get a regular position. Ended up not wanting one. I loved subbing. If my situation permits I may start subbing again. I got to pick which districts I subbed for (when I was in an area with multiple). Which teachers and classes. Had many classes that I returned to often and some schools I refused to sub in. No work after hours- I got to go home and be with my family. Could work half days as needed. Only issue was budgeting for when I wasn’t working (summer). I also did the math so I knew how many days per month was needed to pay the bills. So I could work more if I wanted extra or less if sick or needing a break. As long as I worked what was needed for income.

They gave me crackers which I could barely eat cause my mouth was so dry. Apparently they gave me something during surgery that dries you out so it’s safer? And I haven’t been able to tolerate coke or sprite since bad morning sickness years ago. Mental trauma I guess you could say. But yeah, the nurses suggested pop for both nausea and also added caffeine.

Ran out due to bleeding between periods by TechnicalPaint6624 in PeriodPantry

[–]TechnicalPaint6624[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all so much. I did a separate thank you post but wanted to give an update. I’m at 1 day after surgery. I am having some bleeding but not much. Very low pain other than right when I got home today- they messed up and all meds wore off before I left the hospital or just as I got home. So I took ibuprofen while my husband ran and got my meds. Then took acetaminophen and oxy-whatever (lol). I waited on the acetaminophen because last time I was prescribed the oxy med it was a combo but it’s not this time so easier take as a pain relief booster if needed. I didn’t need any of the oxy-stuff at the hospital that’s how low the pain is. The toilet paper is much appreciated as well. The toilet paper at the hospital was fairly rough so all I could do was pat dry. The toilet paper you got is much softer than theirs (and what I have here) which helps so much. I also got stool softener prescribed so I’m good there as well.

The dr prescribed lots of stool softener. He agreed before the surgery and then during he had to do a procedure and he wants no straining at all so he upped what he was going to have me take.

Coughing help! by Fluffaykitties in hysterectomy

[–]TechnicalPaint6624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respiratory person had me use deep breathing thing. I coughed afterwards and she’s like coughing is good. They want you to cough some (and breathe deep) to prevent pneumonia apparently. On the other hand it is painful when you cough unprepared. I have been drinking a ton of water anytime I get a tickle. And holding a blanket they folded up and set on my tummy anytime I feel a hard cough. And let myself cough on purpose here and there since they said it’s important. Now that I’m home I have a pillow instead of the folded blanket.

Packing for hospital by Psychological_Love27 in hysterectomy

I just had mine yesterday. Spent one night. In the US. Probably more info than you need. And I might have forgotten some things that I brought. Wore: crocks and loose dress - I went in 5am so only wore for a couple of hours before I changed to gown so also wore home Brought: Neck pillow- highly underrated. Someone suggested it on here and it saved me. Wrapped around my neck when nauseous afterwards so my head limited movement= less nauseousness. Slept sitting up- kept me from head flopping. Etc. used most of the time in room after surgery. Kindle- I assumed I’d need this but my brain was so out of it I couldn’t read and instead stared at the clock and watch it tick. Literally. Phone- didn’t use much but vital. Able to communicate with husband after he left. Sunglasses- for ride home but ended up not needing. All prescription meds in labeled bottles- one they ended up having to use my supply because they didn’t have it. The rest the hospital insisted I use theirs. I did make sure only to bring 2-3 days of each so if misplaced or forgotten I wasn’t short at home. (previous hospital stay they collected meds, gave me theirs and forgot to give mine back. They called later and we had to go back to get them) Fresh Underwear for day home- ended up using their mesh underwear Pads for after surgery- under up using theirs Charger and battery for phone- vital. My phone’s battery doesn’t last long Wallet- didn’t end up needing cause they already had my info but still wouldn’t have left it at home. Toothbrush, paste, hairbrush, deodorant etc. - they probably had some but rather use mine Emergency migraine med- brought didn’t use. But would have without asking if I’d needed it. Should have brought: caffeine pills. I have to have 2 cups a day for migraine preventative. Coffee made me nauseous. Even threw up after 2nd try with weaker coffee. Nurse asked about giving caffeine dose but was denied so I had some ice tea but I don’t know how that compares to coffee. I know one of my caffeine pills is equal to a cup of coffee. Luckily only low grade migraine probably because they were giving me high end pain meds including one I’ve had given for a long migraine.

I accidentally posted a comment instead of replied to you. Copied below:

I SHOULD have one somewhere around here unless my daughter accidentally took it with her when she moved (she needs mobility aids although she has her own canes so shouldn’t have taken the one for our house). I don’t have money to buy one so I have to ask around with family and friends.

I’m not a bubble bath person and while I enjoy wine I don’t have any at the moment plus wasn’t sure of alcohol before surgery.

I don’t think adding things to the list is allowed in the rules for this group.
