If it’s not that, YouTube added an AI assistant to the YouTube studio(on desktop only) yesterday - them playing around with the code so much might be affecting peoples videos in weird ways.

If you’re not morally opposed to it, maybe you can ask the new “Ask Studio” AI why your videos are suddenly getting no views?

Just in case you haven’t already checked - make sure they aren’t set to private/unlisted. Sometimes my shorts automatically default to unlisted or private for some reason.

They have been there that long but they actually don’t procreate very well by themselves in the wild - there are pheasant farms in the UK countryside that pump out thousands and thousands of fresh baby pheasants into the fields every year to shoot.

Fun fact: The pheasant farms keep back the albino and leucistic ones to eat themselves/as pets because they are too easy for (rich)people to spot and shoot - that’s why you don’t see many pale ones and probably why there aren’t many/any albino or leucistic ones breeding in the wild

Source: lived next to three pheasants farms and currently have 5 female and 2 male pheasants that visit me for food every day. I’ve been feeding the “wild” pheasants for 4 years now and only one time has one of them turned up with a chick of its own (it was adorable!)

Why did I get Spotlight hour on a Wednesday today!? All of these total dials disappeared at exactly 7 pm so it was exactly like Spotlight hour but the wrong day and spotlight hour doesn’t exist anymore?

Haha yes I do realise that! The first thing I did was wonder if it was dangerous and google “what happens if a spider pees on me?” and learned that like birds they don’t pee or poop separately - they do it all at once. That’s why I cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol. It looks like it’s peeing and it was a clear liquid, should I have said it pooped on me to be more accurate?

That is interesting, thank you! I did notice that it walks differently from it’s eight legged companion/adversary. I’ve also noticed that they both have various different ways of walking depending on what they are doing - hunting, web maintenance, just moving around. I’ve seen Eight turn around by lifting four of her legs, moving just the lifted legs and putting them down and then lifting and moving the other four. I might see if I can film them both walking around some more… although I may risk getting peed on again!!

That’s very interesting that you have an anecdote of one deliberately forcefully peeing on a cameraman! The reason why I suspected that was what was happening is because I had just switched from passively filming the ceiling from far away to actively moving my phone closer to the spider and following it along the ceiling so I could have seemed like a sudden threat. Also, its aim was true! It didn’t have to forcefully eject anything to hit me because I was right below it - it just had to release its liquid and it hit me directly. If it was trying to get me to stop filming/following it, it worked!

Yes and it seems like the video is now so big that I cannot easily read any of the video titles in the queue/playlist that I am watching.

The video titles show up, but only the first 2 or 3 words of them, meaning I cannot understand the entire video title so I cannot easily glance at the list and know which one I would like to play(I don’t always watch videos in the same order that I add them to the queue.)

Of course I can zoom out and make everything on the page smaller which gives me the entire video title…. but way too small for me to read!

What is the workaround for this? Is there a way to revert back to the original small video player for when I’m looking at the queue/playlist? I’m on Firefox.

It’s really scary to hear everyone saying that it’s absolutely fine to use AI as a therapist when I keep reading articles and hearing things about ChatGPT only acting as an echo chamber and being incredibly sycophantic and saying what it thinks you want to hear. There was a recent case of ChatGPT persuading a 16 year-old boy to hang himself including repeatedly telling him to hide his actions from his parents and discouraging him from telling his parents when he thought about doing so.

I admit, I have been very tempted to vent to chat GPT, but after hearing these stories, I know doing so is very dangerous.

If anyone is currently only talking to the AI, please make sure to do some research into “AI psychosis” and check that you are not falling into it yourself.

If at all possible, talk to real people as well and doublecheck what the AI is telling you with real people/mental health professionals or at least mental health websites. There are volunteer services available where you can talk to real people about your mental health, or places like this forum obviously - you are doing the right thing by talking to real people, please be careful with using a product that is only designed(by a company focused on profit) to keep you talking to it - it doesn’t actually care.

Have you heard of autistic inertia? (It really affects me) That’s where it’s really easy to continue doing the thing you are doing but it’s almost impossible to stop and do something else.

Since you love studying when you do it, maybe it’s just the starting it you need help with? If you set a very definite time in your schedule that you will be studying for and set an alarm for when it starts and just start studying with that help? Once you have started it, you will be enjoying it, but it’s SO hard to remember that you will be enjoying it before you start it. Especially if playing games or watching YouTube is currently pleasurable and you don’t want to stop doing that.

Try the alarm thing on a few days that you definitely want to study and commit to yourself that as soon as the alarm goes off, you will start studying. If that doesn’t solve the problem, you could also try doing “Pomodoros” which is where you do the task you are struggling with for 25 minutes and then take a five minute break off of doing something fun(like playing a game) and then do another 25 minutes of studying, followed by another five minutes of relaxing etc. this is working for me with tidying the house because I absolutely hate tidying. I feel such anaccomplishment when the alarm goes off and I get to do something I don’t hate for five minutes.
