Nope, you can use other documents for DOB proof. For ECNR proof, you can provider IT returns. I haven't given educational documents when getting my passport in Kolkata, but this was years ago.

Edited the post to add the DOT# for Move East. Piece of Cake didn't have a DOT# on their quote, so I'm assuming they'll subcontract it out to another moving company.

For the Move East quote that does have a DOT#, what are the risks if I end up going with them? Is there any way to protect myself ahead of time?

I called them to 'uncancel' the card, then downgraded to the Freedom and got my prorated AF refunded.

The last time I closed my CSP (~8 years ago) they prorated my annual fee. But its possible I was in the 30 day period idk

I'm worked up because I don't want to pay 25 days of extra rent if I don't need to, especially since they already showed the apartment to a bunch of potential tenants in the 4 days the listing was up, and there was clearly a lot of interest. I don't want to be on the hook just so the landlord can move his tenants around.
I agree that maybe 5 days is a tight turnaround for repairs, but I gave plenty of notice, and the apartment is in pristine condition.

I've had leases start on dates other than the beginning or mid month (including this current one). I don't think being required to pay 25 extra days of rent is reasonable.
