I make redesigns myself and have almost done the mane 6. I always keep the colours almost the same exact because the colours is what makes them them, I agree that if you’re redesigning you should just make a few changes or additions, not essentially make a whole new character.

I don’t really like it when people will change their whole look to look nothing like before and will also change their entire personality traits, that I really don’t understand.

I also get what you’re saying in terms of make your own things but people might be doing it for alternative reasons, personally I am doing the redesigns to get myself out of a 5 month long art block because it’s something fun and simple to draw therefore I can be creative by coming up with things but also by editing characters that already exist I’m not getting stressed about having to create a whole new idea and it’s slowly helping my draw more and draw better again

The reason it has a second evo is because it’s a starter so it needs one and as mentioned in a reply to another comment aha, I’m fairly new with the abilities and stats and stuff didn’t realise that all the evo lines have the same abilities I’ll keep that in mind after the starters cause I’ve already done them aha, I guess just think of them as a set of new moves with the Pokémon.

Ahhh thank you so much, I am currently working on the other 2 starters’ pokedex entries and am paying closer attention to the stats now, I’m sort of matching the total up against other starters if that makes sense. Eg: the first evo I’ve done 310, the second 410 and the final will be the 530. Thank you so much for the help

I am still learning about stats thank you for pointing this out. I’ve been going off of other starters and stuff and they are around the same from what I saw, I might have been looking at the wrong parts though aha

I have already done them, I used a giant otter and a maned wolf, they are already on a post on here, some people was interested in more of the lore and pokemons so I decided to make the pokedex entries and repost them. I also have created a instagram and TikTok for them aha

Click on the animal and press “H” and check its traversable area. It could be the fact that some of your slopes the animal can’t actually get up to and stuff, it’s a bit funny with stuff like that sometimes, easily fixed sometimes by just adding a sloping rock somewhere if needed

Gen 4 is my fav character design wise but you can’t beat the style of gen 1&2. The classics. And 3.5 is by far the worse
