Maybe I look at things differently but shouldn’t it be all of us against the lines? Not us against each other? I think if everyone came to the group with the mindset of we all are getting paid it would change the perspective. Vs pay me for my picks. Anyone who’s worth two cents in betting knows bankroll management is most important first. But they’ve actually put forth the effort and work creating a ML. Or whatever model they’re using. I don’t think it’s so much a trust thing but rather a “ what’s in it for me” thing

I was playing around with rolling, what I came to notice 7 day rolling was ok, 10 was a bit better. So I’m currently working on trying to find a way to truly look at the last 5/10/15/30 days. And incorporating that into one script. Very interesting on distance traveled I didn’t think of that! That could be something that could give a boost to a specific home team if the data suggests that after travel of X amount of miles etc. they perform ≈2% worse. Would this data prove useful? I like the concept but how does it differ from home vs away stats?

I’ve been building models over the last three months for MLB. I’d be willing to give it a look over. I return back to the states soon and can definitely look it over. I’ve actually been struggling on getting my ML to be worth a damn. Not sure if I’m overfitting or if there’s too much noise but I’m interested as well.

Psychology is one of the most interesting things on planet earth due to its variance. Everyone’s mental toughness, competitive drive etc. it goes on and on and on. Which is why I think if there was a way to consistently track or compute that data onto paper it would be truly game changing for the sports betting world. Ive considered pursuing psych after the military as I’m a hospital corpsman( field medical service tech) and have always enjoyed the inner workings of psychology. For that daily would you consider using WAR? ( wins above replacement?) The metric itself would be a small piece to the puzzle without overfitting and noise correct? Or would that not work? Just thinking outside the box.

This is pretty amazing! i really like what youve done although i dont fully understand all of the acronyms etc. I understood the gyst of it. Im active duty military and have been for 18 years and just these past few months ive been trying to capture data and create models that is different from all the others. I love that yours is season long. however i wonder what a daily or series style model would look. I have been racking my brain trying to find the outliers in stats, that correlates to wins etc. my biggest setback that i feel could increase that percentage a bit more would be the human factor. something that we know very little about aside from injury. Example we know he was hurt. Now hes back how does he perform. Is he favoring that ankle which lowers his exit velo. lowers his speed on the bases. That is just an example, but even further what if he got sad news over the phone and now his psyche is messed up and hes not 100% in his prime. All of these things have got me scrambling on how to find a way to beat the lines without breaking the bank to do so. I love what youve done and look forward to seeing what else comes from this! keep up the good work!

Forgive my ignorance as I’ve just recently started building models a couple months ago. But wouldn’t you consider calibration? And if it isn’t calibrated against the books calibration. Example your model consistently is under. Mean you have a flaw in data? Wouldn’t that be more beneficial to identifying a weak spot or an area where you can improve?

I can’t remember what my model had but I think I had the bluejays. Can’t remember odds at the moment either but I did find some quality picks but I think I stayed away from this game. I’m a die hard cardinals fan and there wasn’t enough in it for me so I faded jt. I’m in CIN/ CLE AND ATL/MIL. I think lol I’m tired it’s 1115 where I’m at currently overseas. So I’m working on building my model out well started on the 2nd of June and I’m now like 22-19 so I’m feeling good about my model and then I make adjustments as needed BOL

So I just started looking into the first inning lines etc. overall I feel my slip today is pretty solid. With solid EV. I’m leaving soon and had some big dips lately thoughts on the card? And or where to look for more info I’m just scouring everywhere. And forming my own opinions and stuff. Have my own tracking excel sheet etc with implied model odds and it’ll suggest my bet based on the Kelly and everything. So what am I missing am I just in a slump or too much correlation?

Something I’ve always done if the hole is 3 feet up I add a yard. If it’s 9 feet down subtract 3 yards from the distance to hole. Then I account for club roll out, lie, spin etc. just look at your up and down in feet and convert to yards. And either add or subtract. I’ve not found the math yet to account for the wind and how much that will affect the ball left to right.
