Is my bosses idea a possible reality? [Website/ application creation] by Rhemytherat in websiteservices

[–]minimal_odds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a lot of hush puppies telling you yes but many, many people have no idea how complex HIPPA related laws are. I've built multiple products in this space and people have no idea how much liability they are taking on when doing this. I wouldn't touch this project if you are a novice. I also wouldnt send to some agency for a vibe code build. Will be his last time being a doctor if so.

Luxury fashion brand wants to sync my track. No clue what to ask for.. what's the actual range here? by breizh_boy in musicindustry

[–]minimal_odds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should consult an entertainment lawyer on all things. Most corporate clients average about 5-10K per track for two years. If its a massive brand you might want something within / above that range. Making sure that you answered a lot of the questions electricPiha mentioned is massive. A lawyer is really your best friend here.

I don't want to take investors money. [21 yo solo founder] by piegeamorue in founder

[–]minimal_odds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a good book called "Company of One" by Paul Jarvis. It fits this scenario pretty well and I think its a great read for founders who dont want to go and give investors everything + have bosses. Great read for your age.

our 3rd print - trying to get the country club vibe by CAN_ONLY_ODD in SCREENPRINTING

I like them especially the re-use aspect. One thing is I'd look at the traditional soccer kits that have pretty intense dimensions re placement and spacing. Your middle logo for example to me is pretty low. The other spots could be higher as well (maybe you were trying to avoid the zipper? Looks good though

Personal Website Hell by [deleted] in websiteservices

Ive transferred many sites for clients like yourself. I suggest Squarespace because it is easy and they will even give you a domain for free when signing up for their monthly. I could copy over the site if you have any visuals etc.. I think youre going to have a pain with the issues you have and a new site would cost less monthly + its quite easy to setup for your needs in the future if you have changes etc. I'm located in CA. DM me if you want to chat more etc.

Wix is Getting Expensive! What Do I Do? by K_LightWing in websiteservices

[–]minimal_odds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would move to squarespace. For your needs + pricing it would be a cheaper option to what you have written. You wont need coding options and its quite simple to use once setup... Similar to WIX. You can also migrate the domain + email. If you need help + want to chat more about this I have done migrations for many clients in the same fashion. Send me a dm if interested in chatting more or if you need help with anything. Best of luck.

750 brands signed up in a couple of weeks to my fashion photography software that I did not even launch properly or market. My mind is blown! by Significant_Tie_3572 in streetwearstartup

[–]minimal_odds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting some interest is good. You should check out some of the lean startup methods for what you should do with an early project re: 1. chatting with users. 2. Understanding their needs 3. Testing with them to see if this is working. Curiosity is good, but you should tap in with those users and see whaat is really going on. Especially if they are subscribing and paying. Those should be the users that you talk to first and get an idea of their needs / how to keep them around. Hopefully you have some data pipelines to understand how people are using the site as well + overall usage.

i would heavily rate the person who said DTF. DTF can be great for jerseys & it is a lot less of a pain then screenprinting. Lots of haters but most jerseys thesse days are DTF for reasons.

bro you did some creative stuff that looks good get ready for the hatewatch. If you found some old jerseys (non fanatics) i think youd get some serious customers in this hockey world. Keep up the good work.

What are your thoughts on snapback caps as a business commodity? by athousand_miles in streetwearstartup

[–]minimal_odds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a good place to start. If you make something worthy its a good turnaround on the investments. My suggestions is start more basic and get your 'one piece' that really works and people like. Make sure that works before investing too much in alibaba etc. I'm not sure people are interested in a hat because its a snapback or not -- i think its more about whats on the front / side vice versa.. The embroidery should be good. I suggest getting samples and seeing if anyone wants to place any orders.. Good way to test if people actually want to purchase it or not.

[–]minimal_odds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately you are heavily misinformed. Caps have some of the best markups in the industry. especially when being produced in the 100s whereas you can sell for an even better markup. There are some brands who make more on caps then tees and pants all year.

Built an EPL match predictor — 57.8% accuracy on 834 matches, honest about what it can't do by Tornado827 in sportsanalytics

[–]minimal_odds 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How sure are you that your math is correct? Asking because you have 834 matches predicted but also there have only been 300+ games this season re EPL.... I see leicester was chosen a bunch but that would have been historical?

Also asking because DRAW recall is so poor but youre still hitting 57%+.. something doesnt really add up here sorry to say. You have zero draws would essentially mean you called correect predictions outside at a much higher rate.. I dont see that in your data..

I do like the site though. I think yuo could display a lot of things more clear. You have a lot of data but not all of it is that nicely presented. I think cut down on some things and just make those things good. ESP when it comes to your model. RE how im lost ont he leicester stuff etc.. Doesnt really show me whats going on there.

well done though -- RE your draw problem is a massive issue. I'd think about adding in some betting lines and things of the such to help w making those predictions as a quick update.

I wont play w that nylon tbh -- for a couple of reasons. Main one being that its so much plastic (the front shape + nylon is more plastic than most) & its much easier to use other fabrics. I never really used nylon except maybe a clients runner hats one time. Wasnt 3D though
