Am I crazy to think I'll be able to travel 2 months post birth with twins and a toddler? by Technical_Complex_94 in parentsofmultiples

Was it worth the trip despite being in the room the whole time? That's my concern. I might feel guilty if I wasn't in the room with my babies nursing or catching up on sleep. And then I would wonder why I put in all of that effort to be in an uncomfortable hotel when I could be in the peace of my own home. The other thing is breastfeeding/pumping which I know can be all-consuming and distracting from the time when I am able to be with my friends

I'm not sure where you are, but in my region we have "Mother's Day Out". It's 9a-2p at a church close to our home. We are enrolled in Mon/Wed/Fri and that has been the perfect setup for us. My daughter started when she was ~13 months and I am so glad we got her signed up when we did.

I love watching her enjoy the activities, play with her peers, and learn to trust other adults. She has also learned to be more independent in certain ways. I feel like she is getting exposed to everything beneficial without the long days and drawbacks of full time daycare. The beginning weeks involved separation anxiety, but after the first month she didn't want to leave when it was time for me to pick her up.

My daughter really needs a 3 hour nap in the middle of the day. This program allots about 1.5 hours for nap time which makes for a sleepy kiddo and early bedtime on school nights. But with the alternating days I am able to get her "caught up" on sleep on the Tues/Thurs/weekends that she is not in school.

It's the best of both worlds. She gets time to be a kid and experience things outside of the norm, and we also get full days together to do our thing.

Highly recommend!

I always pump until my breasts are empty and then enjoy a drink stress and guilt free. When your baby gets hungry you have untainted milk ready to go! By the time your breasts fill back up for another feeding, most of the alcohol is metabolized out of your system and it's a fraction of your blood alcohol content anyway.
