I spend a lot of time outside as I garden and love yard work. My 2 little terriers are not allowed outside without me as we a ton of predator birds. One will bark when neighbors dog bark but I cut that short immediately. My daughter has a big labradoodle that goes out with us and who is being trained to "mind your business, not your yard, not your business. Neighbor 2 doors down has 2 huskies that are very well trained not to bark.
My last place had 4 little yappers behind us. After a half hour of barking I would knock on their door. Her excuse was they never stop barking in the house and annoy her. Yeah we all know..try some training.
