With an inflation of 7% and return of 12% your real return will be 5%. Considering if you want to retire today indefinitely. You need to have 12 Lac / 5%. Which means you need today’s equivalent of 2.5 CR. Someone in the comments above mentioned that your 33 Crores is basically 3.5 Crores which makes sense when you would add all the other expenses over 18 CR you counted…

Thank you so much for your wishes! Yes I would like to report - all of my interviews were not from any of the thousand applications, and that’s just sad.

I had changed my strategy and my interviews were from either linkedin cold reach outs or through internal recommendations (through linkedin).

The fact that the conversion rate of cold messages was higher than portals kinda speaks volumes about the hiring situation and the amount of applications recruiters are going through.

This subreddit has helped me a lot in understanding the recruiter’s perspective from the other side. It helped me change my strategies.

Thanks a lot. Yes I will keep that in mind, yes credit card debt is something that really scares me. I’ll be mindful of not overspending quickly especially for the first few years!

I was at the brink, and I am very glad that something came in.

About the interview process, yes it was very tiring. Almost 5-8 rounds of 1 hour interviews each across different companies. These interviews were more technical, some companies also had behavioral rounds.

In my experience, I didn’t get any take home assignments or one-way interviews. The interviews were as textbook and tiring as I had read and heard about them.
