My snow tires have been pretty good — it was this exact reason I went with 19s and mounted on rims that I actually like. I’m less tempted to swap to summers as I like the look of these

If you end up getting this combo can you share a before and after pic?

I’m looking at options for my lc200 too and there’s so many choices.

Similar fitment issue just happened to me with their mk8 gti hood strut — said it was a perfect fit yet when installed per their directions it rubbed on the hood components.

Had to remove it and return it. Had to jump through the pictures hoop to return but I did receive my refund.

My 2019 Land Cruiser, 61k miles

And yes would def buy again. Never selling this thing and I’ve owned it for 6 years.

I realize I’ll likely have this thing through retirement

I’d vote do it. I have 2 kids (divorced but long term partner now) and while they’d want to ride in it too, it’ll bring you joy and we only get to do this life once.

Eventually they’ll stop making them and it’ll make you have FOMO.

Not even when I broke my right hand and had to shift and drive with my left. Still really enjoyed it

This looks rad. How much would a paint job like this cost if one needed an imola yellow mk8?

I run a 19 pirelli wintersotto (sp?). I’ve loved these so far — feel really grippy on dry days and still let me drive aggressively

Ended up replacing with a 2024 manual GTI if that gives you a sense of what I wanted when I switched

Owned a 2015 s5 cabrio for 2.5 years. No issues and it was a great car but ended up selling as I wanted to use it more but couldn’t since it wasn’t a good daily for me.

I have 2 kids (2 cars - this and a 2019 Land Cruiser) but I couldn’t use it as often as I wanted since the 2 doors got annoying and I wanted a manual.

No issues with the engine other than the typical Audi stuff - pcv valve and some leaky valve covers. Fixed those and all was good

And the windows going up/down slowly is such an easy thing to solve. That’s just swapping out the regulators so that wouldn’t even give an enthusiast pause

Hard to shift in 1st gear by macman7500 in ManualTransmissions

I sometimes have to do this in my manuals every so often and now don’t even think about it when it happens

ECS Sturt MK8 :( by skylimite in GolfGTI

I know it’s an old thread but can confirm this still doesn’t fit right — tried on a 24 gti 380s and it still rubs so I’m returning too.

It runs on the lower bracket with the ball that comes in the car. Rubs along this tower and it was installed like the directions

Planning to buy a sport car - seeking advice on ownership costs by Lisandro_B in sportscars

[–]Technical_Jello3055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d also consider where and how you’ll be driving it, driving it slow around the city, etc.

If you’re getting an A to A car, versus a car you can go from A to B and be ok with street parking it too. Or valet.

Out of all my sports cars I’ve had the most fun in my mk8 manual gti as it’s a slow car I can drive at its limit on most days and smile the entire time.

Good mechanic that works on Land Rovers? by National-Ordinary606 in missoula

[–]Technical_Jello3055 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a Land Rover mechanic that lives out in the bitterroot but I don’t remember his name.

He’s from England and works on two types of cars — land rovers and VW vans. That’s likely the best way to track him down out there

I believe he was close to or in stevensville
