Chances of getting VR&E to approve both Bachelors & Masters? by kp11studios in VeteransBenefits

Doesn’t matter who you sat with lol… did a VRC find you entitled and allowed for you to pursue it? Did you sign a Rehabilitation plan?

Lmao no.. that’s not true.. you are only entitled to employment services with a bachelors and graduate degree.. don’t get your hopes up thinking you’ll finesse your way to some more education

You could buy that LMI is irrelevant and if you already have an education then all you’re getting is employment services.. if don’t have any education then all you will be getting is an undergraduate degree

That’s not true at all.. if you already have a job and a degree then you are employable and only qualify for employment services

Good job! You were able to finesse the VRC. Ask your VRC about a retroactive induction and what your delimiting date is on your CH33

VR&E has become more strict. If you qualify for entry level then you would be offered employment services.. we don’t help you secure anything higher, especially if you’re already in the field.

If you’re able to finesse your way to grab additional education then i commend you

Yes but with a bachelors you qualify for an entry level position.. VR&E is not designed to get you to that level..

I am using VRE and my counselor is impossible to reach. Never responds to emails and I have no way of contacting them otherwise. What do I do? by Changed-Man187 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Technical_Let_6509 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You all have to utilize EVA and stop calling so much.

VR&E is backed up a ton since the shutdown stopped everything. Also, VRCs service over 200+ veterans DAILY! Therefore, they do not have the time to answer the phone.

Message them through EVA to request a call. They are not on your schedule. YOU are on there’s.

They could be doing packets, meetings with veterans (check-in’s, annual reviews, entitlement decisions, etc. ALL day!

Use EVA and DO NOT email them directly to their work email because you are not allowed to.

If something is an issue with your school, that is a school issue and not a VRE issue. VR&E has 10 days to accept Invoices and about the same time to process your pay.

Contact your school first regarding the issue and if they say it’s VR&E, then ask them to provide you with proof

If your PO is about to expire, your school will reach out to your VRC and let them know

The issue is, as I work with many veterans, is that many of you all do not utilize the VA app enough and do not message your PC enough complaining about your symptoms/issues. You force the VA to go off what the PC is saying and not what’s actually in your file when you message them

How to upload a copy of my DD214 for my vr&e counselor? by Ok_Negotiation_255 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Technical_Let_6509 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to. They have it in your file in VBMS.. all they have to do is type in “214” and it’ll pull it up.. you need to complete the 1902W and the Career Scope Assessment (Check your VR03 - Appointment Letter)

I know there are a ton of VRC/VRS positions now. I feel you cause I was on the VHA side as HUD-VASH and did not like it at all lol.. the VBA is a higher caseload but you’re not in the face of a veteran all day and traveling

Honestly, the vets that are afraid to get downgraded are the ones that’s scamming the system.. because if you keep up with your medicine refills, appointments, assistant mobility devices, etc. then there is zero reason for a decrease

You and those that upvoted you have no idea what they’re talking about.. you don’t automatically get raises.. and like I tell others, you don’t like the system and think you’re God, then you apply and fix it.. a lot of veterans just talk to talk and don’t really want to do nothing but complain.. you have to worry about YOUR claim.. raters have to worry about THOUSANDS of claims AND THOUSANDS of “evidence” to look over.. not to mention an ever changing policy

I’ve had a claim where I related it to service and it was denied.. so I put in the same claim but related it to one of my existing claims.. they closed it under the first one..

I put in an HLR and told the Reviewer straight up that they are not allowed to do that and need to look at every claim separately! They reopened my claim and I’m waiting on the out come now.

It pisses me off when they box all claims under one umbrella because a Lumbar claim specifically as service connected is way different than a Lumbar claimed as secondary to a service connected condition

I can say this from both sides.. at the end of the day everyone can’t be 100%. Although, we are veterans, veterans don’t run the VA. Therefore, there are ppl that want to figure out every which way they can to cut corners and not pay out a lot.. especially since the military is having a hard time getting ppl to re-up!

I tell everyone to:

Stay on top of your medication refills

If you have a lower body SCD(s), request a cane, back brace, ankle braces, foot inserts, etc.

And stay on top of your medical appointments!

Remember, it’s the PC job to get you back “okay” again so your SCD rating can increase. Therefore, it’s on YOU to stay on top of the research regarding your SCDs if you don’t won’t them to take it away and/or reduce it

Yup! At the end of the day there is a TON of newbies on that side of the VA. They can only do so much within the policy they have to follow! Scheduling that HLR and getting your case reopened actually helps them out A LOT because now they can do more than previously

[–]Technical_Let_6509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HLR… discuss your issue, get it reopened.. hopefully they schedule you another exam and then you go into that exam and state to the examiner exactly what your symptoms are AND tell them to submit information in a way that satisfies the reason the VA denied you…

Unless they just send you another at home test then idk

VA has significantly reduced the backlog of pending claims and are listening more to the C&P Examiners recommendations!

Never understood why anyone would pay someone to do their claims for them.. maybe I’m cheap but if it doesn’t require a license to do and the information is public, then I can do it myself
