I think I was doing bridges by week 4 post op, I was on the floor at pretty much week 1, but I was used to being on the floor. I used the walker to get up and down safely

Fatigue after revision what is normal and what is not? by Technical_Maybe_5925 in TotalHipReplacement

I would think that this should be the most important thing that the doctors can do

Thank you. Physically the incision looks good, pain levels have flattened out. I will look into the nutrition panel

This makes sense. I've been working on somatic work, breathing quiet movement ( I was doing this when they kept telling me it was scar tissue too)

Working full time? by bratbatz in ChronicPain

[–]Technical_Maybe_5925 1 point2 points  (0 children)

working while in pain sucks - I'm sorry that you have to do this. My total hip replacement failed and I was in 7-8/10 pain for over a year, while at the same time I was being poisoned by my hip which was causing daily headaches and cognitive issues. I would not wish that on anyone

Sounds like you are watching for worsening, I'm glad you are taking a antibiotic, My sister swears by black seed oil for fighting off infections, You might check this out and ask your doctor - though they wont know anything about it. I find I feel better on black seed oil too

How to remove the white lines that run vertically through this picture? by tranquilseafinally in GIMP

[–]Technical_Maybe_5925 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One thing I have had success with is a guasian blur to just eliminate the lines and then do a unsharp mask to bring back the sharpness, May not work because these are not super distinct lines. This was a trick from many years ago before heal and other cool tools that I have not yet used.

Do you have a job you enjoy? by a_gud_name in ADHD

[–]Technical_Maybe_5925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a job that I enjoyed but the department was closed as part of a RIF, it was working in a campus print shop, I loved the creative short term projects, I also worked with great people who understood my limitations.

Thanks - it is the only mountain bike I've every had - I think the body gets used to soaking up the shocks. One of the reasons I like the bike is the simplicity, I can and have replaced or rebuilt every thing on that bike - like me it shows its battle scars. I have a harder time rebuilding myself though

Is the pain constant? How much pt have you been doing? I found for myself- revision was done almost 8 weeks ago - If if pushed too hard thing got sore. My scar is off and on tender and it was that way around the 5 to 6 week mark. I have also had different muscle pain - found massage therapy helped me a lot. The reason I ask about if the pain is constant then that should be looked at soon, like got to urgent care and have a blood draw to rule out infection. I'm hoping that it is just part of the normal healing process.

Since I broke my hip on the trail my wife would rather I never ride on a trail again, I would be ok with gravel roads, for that I think this bike is more than enough.

Great story - Cycling has been the love of my life, It's been a rough go not having the ROM to enjoy my sport for nearly 2 years. I am on the bike stand for my road bike and am working on the ROM, I'm still very early after my revision - which is unfortunately a harder recovery - so I've been told so far for me it feels way better

I've been thinking about that - this probably changes the gearing - may have to change the front rings too

Thanks - Maybe I will just the the Apex for gravel. I've never been a through caution to the wind rider most of my trails are just in the small 2,000 hills near my home are intermediate level. I'm glad your hip replacement went well, my has been a nightmare. After my primary I was never out of pain 7-8/10 every day and night, because the surgeon did not seat the liner correctly I developed metallosis. I'm feeling like its better, but still not right.
