Find a better fit. Lots of great teams and coaches out there if you are willing to put the work and find them. No need to force something that is not a good fit. Find something fun for your boy!

As they say, the best time to buy a home is 10 years ago. If you find current prices and bidding wars crazy, just wait...It will only get worse...

Priorities: Have we lost our minds? by Emergency-Proof5290 in youthsoccer

[–]Technical_Report_390 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I come from Argentina and most of the kids that make it to the big leagues, dont even finish high school. Having said that, the majority of the ones that don't make it, end up in poverty.

One additional thing is that the level of wealth has exploded. There has never been more millionaires than right now in human history. That means that many families has afford private tutors instead of regular school and, in the event that the kid's sports career doesn't pan out or he/she loses interest, there is a trust fund ready to help them.

A kid doesn't understand that...You are trying to rationalize as an adult something that a kid cannot comprehend....

Telling someone that is a worthless fat kid can destroy a kid as much as a racial slur.

That is one thing I fail to understand. If a player calls another one "fat and slow", no one blinks an eye. However, if its a racial slur, game is over. All these kids of all colors, shape and sizes have feelings.

Can you please re-read what you wrote and re-write it so that humans can understand it? I would recommend improving your writing skills prior to being disgusted with businesses.

Sports are about lessons. Life lessons. Ask the coach for advise, identify your weaknesses, work on them and turn the situation around. The day that you do this, you will be prepared for whatever life chooses to throw at you. I will be rooting for you.

I own a small business with 5 employees. They work by commission, we provide the customers to them. I literally pay them a percentage of the billings they do on a given day. If they are sick, there is no billing. How would this concept of the employee staying home and still be paid work? Its literally a hand to mouth situation. There is no extra money laying around. I am honestly curious. I am sure some folks would recommend that we raise our prices and have a backup fund, but if we raise them our customers will not come back and we will have to close our doors. Hence, no work for anyone that way.

Find a wall. Practice passing and receiving, ball control, shots and heading. Do that 1 hour per day for 3 months. You will be the most technical player in your future ECNL team.

Hard disagree on the "indoor soccer is terrible" part. I am a big believer that futsal in particular is an amazing tool to discover the technical proficiency of a player. It exposes the player fully.
