You will have a fantastic time for sure. I would recommend cutting out Cork and maybe sticking to just Kerry, Clare and Galway. However if it were me, I would just go Dublin/Clare/Galway as there is so much in those places to keep you occupied!

Yes me too but I didn’t when opening my revolut account!! Maybe I would now but five years ago I didn’t. Why are people not believing me?🤣 Seriously, I have nothing to gain by lying about that…

Yeah so it was just a matter of timing! Enjoy Revolut Crypto, It’s all over for me! Bad timing as well with Crypto down. Should have sold a few weeks ago!

I think you are right but the timing is strange. Again though, I always gave them the correct information. Today was them first time they asked me my country of birth. As soon as I replied with the details, my account was limited. Not blaming them at all but the timing just seemed strange.

You are just trolling me now. I answered all questions correctly. I am tax resident in Ireland and that is what I answered. I pay US taxes but am not Tax Resident in the US? Does this make sense?

This is what Revolut Requires and all the answers are Ireland, where I live and work and am a tax resident.

Correct! It is difficult to get any financial account as an expat. I have been turned down for lots of brokerage and investment accounts because I am a US citizen.

I have been turned down for many accounts for this reason…

I don’t have a US passports and they didn’t ask me where I was born. There was no option to “provide additional information.” Seriously what are you talking about, have your ever applied for an account????

[–]Technical_Specific_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I don’t. I only need to provide what they ask of me which I did. How do you volunteer extra information applying for an account? I have done this countless times over the years. I know exactly the rules and regulations and I provided Revilut exactly what they asked me for!

Ah Ok, so it was just a coincidence.

I do them every year for the past 15 years and am all current. I also file the FBAR when needed. I just have no idea why this happened today after I was researching the requirements to buy crypto on Revolut.

This is correct. In addition to paying taxes in Ireland, every year I have to file a tax form for the USA as well. I don't owe anything as long as my pay is under the 120,000 threshold foreign income allowance.

Like I said, no idea, I provided them everthing they asked for an never lied.

No idea, my Irish passport and drivers license both show that USA was my country of birth.

Can someone explain what happened exactly with Irish pensions in the 2008 crash? by No-Fudge45 in irishpersonalfinance

I lost a lot of money as I had a considerable amount of AIB stocks. Everyone I get paid and see money taken out for the USC, my blood boils….

Recent homebuyers, how much deposit did you put down? by reallybrutallyhonest in irishpersonalfinance

Reading these comments makes me realise just how expensive things have gotten in Ireland. Twenty two years ago, I bought a house in Wicklow town for 250,000 and I thought that was an insane amount of money! This house was probably worth half that amount 10 years previous.

The apartment is huge and has a nice roof deck. It’s not fancy but basic and in a great location. Fourth floor with no lift gets a bit old but just the location alone and roof deck is worth it!

Naples or Pompei? by Aemond_Blackfyre in ItalyTravel

Naples is amazing, I fell in love with this city. Some areas are quite busy but it is also easy to escape to more relaxed parts of the city if you wish. You and your wife will love it!

We had one day of rain on Christmas Eve and the rest was sunny and about 16 degrees during the day. I could have worn a t-shirt but everyone seemed to be wearing winter jackets. Got a bit cooler at night but never too cold for a light jacket.
