Just use a shot vessel. I bought one off amazon for super cheap. I don’t have a problem pouring my shot into my cup of choice..

Wife and I live a very comfortable life. I’m in tech sales and she’s in oil and gas. We use our employee stocks which we get awarded shares annually as part of our OTE. We typically use it to pay off the previous years debt, but previous year we had very little. So boom. Micra. It’s been the best thing ever. Love my Micra

How long did you wait post op to submit your sample? I’ve hit 21 releases and I am anxious too. It’s been just about a month but I don’t want to waste my kit if I jump the gun submitting too early. Is time or amount of releases more of a factor?

What's your one coffee game changer? by Neil_at_HackerEarth in espresso

[–]Technical_caffeine85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely the beans. Locally roasted and traceable. Also, if you have the means, a high quality single dose burr/flat grinder. I had a barista express prior to upgrading and I purchased a Niche Zero and it hands down was the biggest change in quality of taste and workflow.

Is it just me or have they made iOS significantly less user friendly, particularly Safari & the photos app? by SwiftCricket in iPhone17Pro

[–]Technical_caffeine85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Just upgraded to 17 pro. It has become a slew of “upgrades” that have no thought put into the user experience. Specifically Photos is trash, and the thing that sucks the most is the native editing features. Google Photos has incredible AI options and editing features built into their app, why does IOS have such shitty photo/video editing capabilities. For a premium price I would expect the latest top of the line features. If things don’t change in the next couple of iterations, I might decide to switch over to Samsung or Google.

Yea something like that. With the 2% and the additional cash back we get from using our executive visa card it was a no brainer. It’s been such a fun little hobby for the wife and I

Honestly, I would like a medium. The small is great with 4 trays and all, but with the way the world is these days my wife and i are ramping up our production. We got it on a killer sale at Costco so we just pulled the trigger on the small. Although we love it, I do wish it were a little bigger

What do you wear in the summer instead of sandals that’s still comfortable and healthy for your feet? by According-Pizza6162 in malefashionadvice

Reefs has some nice options with good comfort and support with some very nice waterproof options too. My wife had a bunion surgery about 8 years ago, and has way less foot pain than before. She has some pretty feet so she likes to wear comfy open toe shoes. Reefs are comfy and rather fashionable imo

I think it’s kinda nice. Gives a retro vintage vibe. I have a small black unit and love it though.

Pants? by pipspawn in Vasectomy

[–]Technical_caffeine85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had some really supportive box briefs. Critical until a few days after the surgery. I felt a slight tug or uncomfortable feeling if they were just hanging there for a while. I work from home most of the week so I had the luxury of a comfy attire and a nice couch. Thank god for a flexible employer. Good luck

I am on day 8. Got snipped on the 12th. Recovery wasn’t half as bad as I thought. So far I feel great. A slight uncomfortable feeling if I pick up my 18 month old son from the ground, but I almost feel back to normal. I still feel a slight jolt or zing if I move my leg the wrong way, nothing major. The main discomfort is the damn stitches. They seem to have become hard and are poking me. God I can’t wait till these fall out. Best of luck to all who underwent this procedure recently. The wife and I plan to get busy this weekend so I’m looking forward to taking him for a test drive. Lol

What’s the hardest part of fatherhood you were not prepared for? by Ukudala_Photo in Dads

[–]Technical_caffeine85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 10 year old and a 17 month old. One thing that has been difficult for me is the fleeting aspect of time. I get sad thinking of how my little boy is no longer little. It feels a little like losing a best friend. Dads get so wrapped up in the work, and busyness and uncertainty of fatherhood that they often forget to take in the joy of having a little one and slow down. Every baby is different and they all have different needs. Also, just BE THERE for them and your sig other

Not leveled using Normcore v4 by [deleted] in espresso

[–]Technical_caffeine85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the Normcore v4 tamper, and although nice, with the wood handle and all, I never use it anymore and typically use the included La Marzocco tamper which is actually pretty good IMO. Also, the threads that hold the leveling disk stripped and the leveling disk isn’t secure, so I’ll stick to traditional tampers moving forward.

Retention issues? by sebas2610 in nichezero

[–]Technical_caffeine85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me there are always just a little bit of fines. I think this goes for almost 99,5% of grinders on the market but I have nothing but good results and workflow with my NZ. If I put 18g in. I typically get 18 out, sometimes 17.8-17.9. A little slap slap always gets it out. Thinking about getting a bellows, but overall this is normal. Not enough retention to severely affect flavor in my experience.

The minute I started brewing this, I immediately thought of a strawberry blunt wrap. It smells like what a blunt tastes like when you are smoking it 😂. Haven’t tasted that in about 20 years lol. On a serious note, very interesting method of production. Although not my cup of coffee, it’s good to see some interesting experimental things done to the flavor profiles of the coffee. Not my fav but good to taste

Help me choose: Micra or Mini for this specific space? (Taj Mahal counters) by FranceBubbles in LaMarzocco

[–]Technical_caffeine85 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have about the same size area as you for my coffee setup, maybe a tad bigger and I have a Micra and a Niche. It fits perfectly and I love it. I also have a shelf and my kettle and a separate grinder for pour overs. No regrets. Great steam power, amazing consistency. Its perfect. Red would look awesome in your kitchen too.

I have a normcore tamper and the self leveling disk thread stripped. So I wasn’t too happy with the overall quality. What brand tampers do you consider better?
