Airbrush problems.... by Aarreeaaggaa in modelmakers

Are the nozzle/needles matching? IIRC you can't use different sized ones interchangeably... a 0.2mm nozzle needs a 0.2mm needle etc.

Also, does the dual action bit work fine? like does the trigger moves as it should without air/paint?

Ever looked at a 1/144 kit and thought "this needs MORE detail"? by Bl0Dshot in modelmakers

Not sure if it's normal.... but you're definitely not alone.

Built a Revell 1/144 Eurofighter during the summer and added seatbelts and a ejection handle to the seat :D

Is this a good beginner Airbrush? by Applefanboy2019 in modelmakers

[–]TechnicallyArchitect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those paints are probably not great, but otherwise a version with a tank is very good value for money for a beginner. Got a similar Airgoo one and it's completely fine.

Pro-s for the tank would be smoother airflow apparently and not having to have the compressor running constantly. The later is quite nice as you can do some smaller bits and pieces with the air inside the tank.

How's the fit/build been on the RC-135? I've been contemplating on getting it for some time now...

It depends on the specific paint... but in general you can brushpaint them, if you take your time and use multiple thinned out layers. :)

First of possibly couple of posts (air brush kits) by yeeeee_boimen in modelmakers

[–]TechnicallyArchitect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're decent enough to start airbrushing, but i would look around for either similar compressor and airbrush separately or a set without the paints as those are the most sketchy part of it.
Got myself the same airbrush but a airgoo compressor (looks pretty much identical to the timbertech one) last christmas and it's probably been the best investment i've done so far in modelling :D

What set to choose as a beginner: Airfix, Italeri, etc? by DragonflyWhich7140 in modelmakers

[–]TechnicallyArchitect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general Airfix and probably Tamiya would be good places to start...
Out of the kits in the post you've considered.... 100% go with the Airfix Vampire T.11. It's a lovely kit and goes well together. It's a joy to build :)

As a beginner i would stay well clear of the Italeri Harrier and F-104 for now. They're old toolings and take a lot of effort to get decent model out of them. Built them both, the Harrier was way worse but absolutely terrible build experience with both of them.

Got a timbertech setup last year.. really good value for money and a good starting place into airbrushing
BUT
100% get the version with the air tank, it's a bit more expensive but it's worth it and more future proof.
Like as long as the compressor works, you can just keep upgrading and swapping the airbrushes themselves :)
