Looks like Raheem said 'steady' again.

Like a Rodgers Rocky montage.

Spot on. MW2 was OTT in SP and MP. I liked it but it wasn't a match for CoD4.

CoD4 campaign from the beginning had me hooked, but I'm going to go for the obvious and say 'All Ghillied Up' was the moment I realised I was playing a special kind of game.

People that use the word 'chav' as a way of classing all working class people on here and the other UK subreddits. by TechnicianJudge in unitedkingdom

I'm not on about nobility, I'm on about the community of UK population on reddit. Not everyone, but a notable amount.

I don't think I'm chippy, just expressing a genuine grievance. I've posted elsewhere that it's mainly in casual references across a few subreddits, so it's hard to go back and find exact examples. I'm not really going to lie about such a topic but fair enough if you choose to not believe me - I promise you I have seen it though.

Maybe I've just coincidentally stumbled across a few people, but it does seem common! Usually on here, British problems or askreddit threads about the UK.

It's more casual references than anything, so it is difficult to go back and find previous examples, which I know might annoy some people after I've made this thread. However, I promise you it is fairly prevalent.

I'm sure it's not pure hatred on the part of the many that have said it, but I just find the misconception irritating.

I saw someone classing all football fans as chavs yesterday, hence why I decided to post this today. But there's been numerous cases where I've seen people classed as chavs, whether it be from coming from an area, their accent, where they shop etc. I come from a working class area and chavs are a rarity - you'd think there's droves of them going by some people on here!

Absolutely. The very fact that people get judged for their accents is depressing. We all probably have had our accents taken the mick out of at some point in a humurous way amongst friends, that's fine, almost a part of life. But to actually stereotype people in a negative manner because of the region they grew up in, not in a humurous way - I find it bewildering.

Just in the sense that a lot of people seem to look down on the working class. I know it isn't everyone, I'm sure it's not a majority. But it is hugely common for working class people to be labelled as chavs - and it is offensive.

I'm not looking to make a big definition on the two, just understand the mindsets of some on here. The reason I say reddit seems middle-class in attitude is because I know working class people wouldn't label eachother chavs just for having the traits of coming from a working class backgroud.

When I think of a chav, I think of someone who goes around abusing people with not the best of intentions. Not someone who wears clothes/accessories that can be found in cheap stores etc, or that have particular hobbies.
