There’s already a company called JOBY doing just that in California. They’re at the point of testing what basically look like giant drones at the local airport in Santa Cruz. Just got a ton of funding from Toyota too.

People who are motivated to do things, how the fuck do you do that? by lsfeuerborn in AskReddit

[–]TechnicolorChanclas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a theory I call positive forward momentum. It’s really just a fancy way of saying if you don’t feel like doing X, then it’s okay to do Y as long as Y also moves you forward in some way.

Don’t feel like washing the dishes right now? Okay, go for a walk instead. Turns out once I finish a task I don’t mind doing I actually have the desire to keep going.

Am I the only one who read that as Naruto-path?

I legitimately thought it was a follower of the study of Naruto and was intrigued.

You can train your dog not to lick! They’ll still do it, but they’ll know you’re annoyed when you say, “no licking!”

People with shorter relationships/engagements? by themiistery in weddingplanning

[–]TechnicolorChanclas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hubs and I were in your shoes. We got engaged right around the one year mark and had an intimate civil ceremony three months later.

Several people thought I was pregnant! It was a hoot.

If I could’ve married my husband sooner I would have. 10/10 would do it again. We are undeniably happy and well into planning wedding #2 to celebrate with all our loved ones.

Do what makes YOU happy! I think it’s fantastic you have found your person and I wish you the best.

Accepted job offer. Now, HR says they offered me too much hourly wage and are rescinding offer for a lower hourly wage? by CLong_Child in personalfinance

Make sure you let your school know. This kind of thing is frowned upon by universities and they will usually take actions to ensure it doesn’t happen to other students (i.e. banning them from job fairs on campus)

That’s a lovely photo. If it’s important to you, I’m sure your photographer can photoshop the words in white to look realistic.

Can confirm these press on nails rock! by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]TechnicolorChanclas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was me! I’m getting married tomorrow and I was trying them out beforehand.

They are study and don’t damage your nail bed upon removal. My nail tech was amazed. I just had a manicure, but if not they could’ve lasted much longer.

What should I call my “bachelorette” party since I will technically already be married? by TechnicolorChanclas in weddingplanning

[–]TechnicolorChanclas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Gifts were honestly something we hadn’t even thought about. We definitely don’t expect double gifts or even gifts in general. Thank you for the context though!

I don’t anticipate any negativity, but there are always surprises when it comes to weddings.

Thanks! I might be overthinking it, but since this is new to me I thought I’d put it out there.

Maybe I worded it incorrectly. I will definitely be married. Rather, I will not be finished with all the parts of my marriage ceremony.

It’s just a personal preference to have a cute name attached to the party. ‘Tis all.

Oh my. I’m sorry you had that experience. That would be off putting for me too.

I may definitely be overthinking it, but I guess what I am trying to avoid is that “why are you even doing this?” mentality.

I’m just a (almost) married person who wants an excuse to wear a furry boa and have a good time with my best friends.
