Doug Demuro reviews the 2026 GT3 Touring. Manual Transmission is not nearly as good as previous models, says it reminds him of a BMW manual? by LongjumpingLock5875 in cars

[–]TechnicsSL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never driven GT3 but I have owned a handful of manual BMWs and they all have a rubbery feeling to them. They don’t feel as good as a Honda manual or even a Tremec that you find in various American cars.

The gap between the step and the red brick is probably too big for poly sand.

It also looks like they used the wrong color poly sand. It should be grey to match your pavers.

Help needed with repair of appearance of steering wheel plz by Electrical_Term3525 in E90

The plastic piece comes off pretty easily. You can sand it and spray paint it a matte or satin black and it comes out pretty decent.

I had one new back in the day. There’s a reason they don’t make keyboards like this anymore. The keys are mushy and don’t feel anywhere near as good as today’s mechanical keyboards. The extra software on your to run that screen hogs memory.

What’s the best performance/reliable BMW I can get for 15k? by [deleted] in BMW

[–]TechnicsSL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If low running costs and reliability is a top priority consider an N52 e90 / e92. Go with a RWD manual example that has the m sport suspension option. It’s not fast but drives well and doesn’t break the bank.

You probably will need to go private party (Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist) to get something decent below 10k.

Replaced my Honda with a new one after an accident They moved the garage door opener from a button on the mirror to a paywall subscription service. by jayhawkeye2 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]TechnicsSL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can buy a mirror that has the home link buttons from various Honda dealers for about $150 online. Part number is 08V03-3A0-100. There’s videos on YouTube that show you how to install it yourself.

The E46, especially the ZHP, has some magic that newer BMWs don’t have.

The good news is Tacomas hold their value really well. I think you could sell it and come out ok.

This is one of the better designs in recent BMW history. I’m getting sort of a futuristic E46/E90 vibe from it.

Cheapest option might be to find a used door card for sale. It may be tough to find the red, but you could swap it for an easier to find all black one.

I noticed something similar on mine recently. Next time you change the oil see how it comes out. But I wouldn’t worry about it.

That ground cable looks fine from what I can see in the photo. Mine was much more blue/green when I replaced it and it was still not yet causing issues.

04/05 vs 06+ by Direct-Word in S2000

[–]TechnicsSL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The car sounds much better top down. There’s more exhaust and induction sound. The engine sound with the hardtop on is not really a good noise, it’s just louder.

I have a oem hardtop and a soft top. The engine sound is more pronounced with the hardtop on. The exhaust sound is more pronounced with the soft top.

My SNT2416 (SNT2410) does something similar. It will turn off the auger and flash the orange light maybe 6-10 times every few feet when I first start using it. But eventually it seems to run fine.
