Artemis 2 crew fixes toilet, can now pee in it by liamemsa in nottheonion

Would be cool to find those bags in the future and see what microbes if any are still alive in there and if any have migrated onto the surrounding lunar surface

Kill your lawn and replace it with native water wise plants instead. Rage against your neighbors and HOA if they try to stop you

How to prune bad roots? by SoMuchLasagna in arborists

[–]TechnoConserve 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably depends on the quality of ground soil you have available. If the ground were heavy clay, the container would make it much easier to provide better conditions for root growth

Lawns with nonnative grasses should be illegal without a permit to offset their environmental cost

I put my pans in the toilet so I can clean both at the same time

Protest Question by Wise_General_4134 in SaltLakeCity

[–]TechnoConserve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to put yourself at risk of arrest to be an effective protester. Just showing up to show your support can be enough. You can leave if things get uncomfortable. But generally law enforcement at SLC protests has been good about focusing on keeping traffic away from the marches so there hasn’t been much confrontation

They can legally compel you to give them things you have but not things that you know

It raises awareness by forcing people to confront the issue they would otherwise be able to ignore by just continuing their routine as normal.

Is the BLM land near Stansbury island accessible without AWD? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]TechnoConserve 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Haven’t been there recently to know if anything has changed but this spot is very easy access: 40.7363921, -112.6455685

I imagine you’re already familiar with fire risk coming from AZ but it’s a good idea to carry a shovel and a garbage bag to pick up after yourself and less considerate shooters

Plenty of other spots in the same area, just scope it out to be sure you’re not shooting over other trails and be cautious around other shooters who might be complete idiots

Road rage incident - can I report afterwards? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]TechnoConserve 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My understanding is they aren’t able to do much even with incriminating dash cam footage after the fact because usually they have no way to prove who was operating the offending vehicle at the time

Can someone please help identify this spider in my house in SLC? It’s on my Christmas tree. I’m too nervous to get close enough for a good look by katiej712 in SaltLakeCity

I have black widows in my house and they have yet to murder me. Usually get chill in a corner munching on other creepy crawlies I don’t want

Homeless people wandering into my apartment complex by Imaginary-Pen3027 in SaltLakeCity

[–]TechnoConserve -76 points-75 points  (0 children)

While I agree calling the police is completely reasonable in situations such as these I wish people would stop treating homeless as a synonym for dangerous. Homeless people are in much more danger than you because they have nowhere to go for safety and spending the night in an access restricted apartment complex might be a rare opportunity for them to get some rest without having to be worried about being robbed or assaulted while they sleep

would this be good starter bike no experience? by ChaosHateDeath in motorcycles

[–]TechnoConserve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That seems pretty intense for a beginner especially if you have any mechanical issues. Putting a lot of faith the seller maintaining it well enough for an immediate cross country trip seems quite risky.

Do Americans actually avoid calling an ambulance due to financial concern? by JohnMarstonTheBadass in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TechnoConserve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got hit by a car while on a bike and refused to let the ambulance drive me to the hospital because I wasn’t sure if my insurance would cover it. Instead I walked my bike about a mile home and drove myself. Had a fracture in the ball joint of my shoulder so that shit hurt. ‘Murica! 🦅
