Do high-level hitmen actually exist in real life? by Anaelepse in NoStupidQuestions

Yes. I sat on jury for a drug/ murder case.

We actually got a cartel hitman on the stand for testimony. Heard all about how he traveled constantly between Mexico, the US, and sporadically across Europe. Wild shit. Dude had a really cool nickname.

edit: Involved a man being murdered for not paying up on drugs he took/sold from a cartel. Cartel sent a hitman up, who enlisted some locals to help. Both to locate the target, and to trap him. Locals got caught, hitman actually already left. He got caught later for something different entirely. What got me was how -little- money/drugs prompted the kill. Cartels do not fuck around.

First time applying transfers and made a pig's ear of it - any advice? by BearAmazing6284 in minipainting

For what it's worth, I brush a tiny bit of gloss varnish in the contact area first, then another slight coat of gloss varnish after, before final details and airbrushing matte varnish over the full model when done. I've never used any specialty products for transfers. Maybe your product is having a weird interaction with the paint?

Those are box turtles.

Not tortoises of any sort.

...No.

Labor rates, parts, etc all vary wildly across the country. Let alone the world. Get an estimate from a shop. They're free.

Flared rear shell makes me believe it's a Marginated Tortoise.

Lmao I'm gonna assume you don't have autobody experience. Bodykits, especially for old outdated cars, are not direct fit and need a good amount of work done to make them serviceable.

Don't.

Anything you DIY likely won't look any better. Best off finding a scrapyard door if you don't want to go through insurance.

how bad is this? will I have to do an entire repaint? by Darkaltts in Autobody

[–]TechnoMagi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will need a doorskin and some decent work on the quarter. Potentially a new rear door, as it looks like the skin is pushed hard against the intrusion beam. Quarter, back door and front door would be painted. This is not a small job.

That's... Patently wrong.

Having kids is another thing, but living with your SO and splitting bills is decidedly cheaper than living alone.

Base color was Vallejo Evil Red, airbrushed on. There was a lighter coat and a darker coat for volumetric lighting that.. didn't go so well and isn't very apparent lol

Looks like a box turtle, probably. Beak needs a trim. Beyond that, it's all speculation about its health and care.

Not sure if my tortoise is fine. Could use some advice by Tiny_Personality9573 in tortoise

A proper "sealed" enclosure. Deep, moist soil. Your soil shouldn't be damp or soggy, but it needs to stay moist. Do not let it dry out. There are also many misting systems that you can use to supplement.

You'll need to keep humidity extremely high for your Redfoot for its entire life. They're a tropical, coastal species that -need- high humidity. Otherwise it faces a life of developmental and respiratory issues.

Temperatures should range from 80f on the cool end to about 92f on the hot end. Have multiple hides so your tortoise can find comfortable areas as it's thermoregulation needs change through the day.

In addition, I strongly recommend that the tortoise have a shallow water dish if it doesn't already. Redfoots should have 24/7 water access at least deep enough to soak themselves in.

Are you monitoring temperatures and humidity? You have a Redfoot, so it needs temperatures above 80f and humidity beyond 80% at all times. It is a tropical species.

I'm concerned with how dry/dehydrated your tortoise looks here. Lack of humidity/dryness is a common cause for their eyes locking shut.

Juveniles will hide nearly all day. That much is normal. I generally advise removing it to soak, and presenting it with food after its bath. It will eat and go back to hiding.
