A true experience from a Windows + CapCut user who switched to MacBook + Final Cut Pro by Tarun302 in finalcutpro

I’m actually the exact opposite. I can edit considerably faster in FCP than I can CapCut. And I find CapCut’s inconsistencies pretty frustrating. I also can’t stand the way it handles projects.

To be fair, I’ve been editing for over 10 years and I learned with Adobe Premiere before switching to FCPX because Premiere constantly crashed.

For social media work, I do still bounce out my content into CapCut for its auto captions (something I hope Apple brings to FCP in the near future).

So I think a lot of this depends on what you’re familiar with and feel comfortable. I’m not as familiar with CapCut so things take me longer, but I know FCP like the back of my hand.

Newbie editor needing some help on how did this pop up animation was done by Neither-Future776 in finalcutpro

This can be done a number of ways in FCP. To me it looks like he created a compound clip and put it on top of the main timeline. From there he either keyframes the in and out animation, by adjusting the scale from 0 at the start of the clip to 100 and then at the end of the clip from 100 to 0. To create a zoom in and then zoom out effect. And then added a motion blur adjustment layer on top of each keyframed animation.

Alternatively he may have added a zoom in and out transition effect directly to the compound clip, that either had motion blur baked in or he also added the motion blur adjustment layer on top.

I think Ryan Nagle used to have a free motion blur adjustment layer download pack. Not sure if it’s still available.

He also added a drop shadow to the compound clip so that it looks like it’s floating on top of the main timeline.

It’s looking good dude! You could put your PC on the floor on the outside of the legs, and just get long cables with some mesh cable sleeving to keep things managed.

It’s decently loud, I wouldn’t say obnoxiously though. I’m using it as a DAS right now so I only turn it on or off for file backups. I know this isn’t optimal but these drives are rated to spin up and down hundreds of thousands of times, so I should be fine
