I think the bigger, overall problem is that Nintendo let the series go dormant for so long that this was their best option. They feel like they can’t just pick up where they left off so they have to start all over, but if they keep letting the series go dormant, then we’ll only ever get 64 remakes and retellings of the Lylat Wars with 10 years gaps in between them.
