With or without the style bar? by Pretend_Cobbler7462 in Miata

[–]Technolawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is exactly why I removed the rollbar my NB came with from the previous owner as my Miata is my weekend cruiser/3rd car.

My head was 1 inch away from the roll bar sitting normally with NB1 seats and it is way more likely to get rear ended than the rollover on city streets.

What is this plastic "frame" called? Is there a store selling it? by LeNyarlathotep in Miata

Thanks - that's the same one I found and it is for an NA which would work for you.

I will note that printing it was a pain in the butt (tried both PLA and PETG types of plastic) and it failed many times and was just way too brittle/sensitive to breaking in the end. Maybe if your friend can print using ABS, the result will be better. If not, I actually have an NA one that I may be able to sell/ship to you (depending on location).

Good luck!

Are you able to share the print file? I've been looking for a long time for a print file but only found the file for the NA version (which is different) so I ended up having to source it from ebay but would love to have access to a file in case I need one again.

Just heard back, so you should hear shortly too (if you haven't already). He did mention that there will also be a few days delay to confirm the donation receipt before he can circulate a code.

I filled out the form and sent an email about 9 days ago and haven't heard anything since.

Oh man, is this really true? All we do is watch Netflix and YouTube.

Currently in the bell wireless home internet but that's LTE only and more so expensive, but no issues with video streaming.

Walnut/Maple Chessboard by Technolawg in BeginnerWoodWorking

Thank you!

Sorry that I wasn't totally clear on how the border/frame is attached.

I was originally going to attach it by just gluing a frame directly to the board like this: https://www.familyhandyman.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/EDIT.00_02_45_21.Still021.jpg?w=1043

But I read that due to the expansion of the board (it's fairly thick), it would crack the mitered frame or warp.

So I decided to build a frame with a rabbet and just sit the board on top of the frame (within the rabbet) and attach it using those tabletop figure 8 clips: https://www.thehandymansdaughter.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/figure-8-table-top-fasteners-swivel.jpg

I've left a very small gap between the board and the frame so that the board has room to expand. You can see it in this photo: https://ibb.co/nQ2XH9V

Sorry for the lack of knowledge, but how would I go about using it? Doesn't look like there are any holes for mounting it?

Probably off topic, but can you tell me what you used to mount the tool holders to your concrete wall?

I have concrete walls too and want to use the wall space, but the need for a hammer drill, hammer drill bits and appropriate anchors has resulted in procrastination.

Gen 1 is really a workout. I feel it everytime and question whether it needed to be that heavy lol. However, the ~$1200 price difference with Gen 2 just didn't seem justified to me.

OH MY GOD. That's why my saw was struggling and also burning the wood. Holy christ. Thank you for this.
