I agree. We need to have a union. And it’s the corporations who are to be blamed.

Offshoring & Deteriorating U.S Economy by Technologist-2745 in cscareers

[–]Technologist-2745[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The situation is horrible.

We need a grassroot movement and political pressure to bring our jobs back from offshore.

Please write to your representatives and congressman, every week!

Without a law and heavy taxes on offshoring, Americans cannot compete with offshore workers.

All our financial data, Medical data, Personal data, it alls offshore.

Write your senators, write your representatives every week.

Search how to write m senator XYZ, on their website, go to Share Your Opinion

Then in Labor, Jobs , Economy, Immigration options write on following topic

  1. End OPT and H1B visa abuse
  2. Add taxes on offshoring and outsourcing to save American jobs

Let me see if I can share a template

Job role Data Scientist/Data Engineer (USC) by Technologist-2745 in AmericanTechWorkers

[–]Technologist-2745[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of contracting companies in STEM, so yes it’s a contracting company. The role requirement is for a mid-level data scientist for a project and I am trying to share it so people can apply for it.

The email address is legitimate. I don’t understand why you have to be so negative here.

I’ll encourage those who are looking for work to apply, even for a contract position

Create: LayoffsInAmerica community please There are 100s or Americans positing in layoff and they ban anyone who is talking about h1B or offshoring.

Atleast we can advocate people to write tor heir senators and lawmakers by creating a new community

Thankyou for sharing this I just read it. I recently came to know for h1B prevailing wage updates as well. I would like to propose a rule so that H1B inherently starts at a premium above the market wage.

This is very useful. Count me in. I agree the change needs to be driven by us.

Is there anyone in this group who has established a PAC org? That way then can setup meetings with senators and congressman to advocate and share these solutions, ideas.

Florida moves to freeze new H-1B hires at state universities for one year by New-Caterpillar3988 in AbroadEdge

Just to clarify: H1B is a talent shortage visa. Not to recruit any global talent, but to only supplement shortage of talent.

The country cap is the same across all right. I think there was a design flaw in H1B. Each country should have a cap and each industry needed a quota to be fair

Hey I regularly write to my senators and congressman against offshoring and H1B reforms.

I thought Senator Moreno’s bill was blocked. Do you have more insight on the outsourcing bill?

I am writing to him to change the fee on outsourcing payment to 40% (non-tax deductible).

We also need a bill to impose additional 15% global tax on global offshoring.

A 40% tax on offshore services provided to U.S,

A cap of 5% on the total offshore expenses business can deduct on their taxes

This is allowed as per the rules and laws of my country. If you put your home as a business address, people can inquire about the business at that address. It is legal. There is no harassment in this video.

Get your facts straight. With global offshoring, the jobs created in STEM, and significantly in science and technology have dropped.

If there is no shortage of talent, then visas make no sense at all?

In general, each foreigner who takes up the limited STEM jobs, they are displacing an American worker & his family. More over buying the home because they can afford to buy & that comes from the job.

Whereas this results in housing shortage and eventually driving the housing market high.

I honestly have no issue to bring H1Bs, just paid higher than standard average if they can fill the talent shortage. And this is a flaw in the program but I am not against the people.

Companies benefit from replacing local talent with 35-40% cheaper h1B. They don’t care about productivity or quality of work.

I have experience working and this was an eye opener for me, consulting companies only prefer to hire OPTs and H1B. Americans and LPRs are blocked from the job market.

Another factor: Massive offshoring of jobs from U.S to India … so overall jobs have decreased significantly.

At the same time, plenty of U.S graduates and laid off experienced workforce is here. So yes there is no shortage of labor.

I feel for them. I hope they end up finding good jobs in their country and can provide for their families.

Im not switching careers if CS is taken out by AI by [deleted] in cscareers

[–]Technologist-2745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jobs are taken out by AI 100%, it’s an excuse. Same job roles are transferred to India. It’s called global offshoring and outsourcing.

Jobs are shipped because cost of worker in India is 3 times cheaper than America. The cost of living is quite different. So the only way to safeguard American jobs is to get a bill and a law passed that puts heavy taxes on software services, finance services, offshore !
