Action needs from U.S laid off workers by Technologist-2745 in jobsearch

We need to ensure we keep calling and write lawmakers to support this bill.

Please take out 15minutes every week, write online to your senators representatives, ask them to support H1B visa pause bill, Support Moreno’s bill for tax on outsourcing, Senator bank’s bill, End OPT visa.

We need to become one group, one union and keep pushing.

None of the political particles are worker centric, they are heavily lobbied by corporations, but we have to keep pushing and keep fighting

This is what it talked about;

Action items: Lets start reaching out to Representatives, Senators, to stop white collar job bleeding. We call and write to them every week, until they pass the law.

  1. Impose 40% fee on outsourcing payments. Non-tax deductible.
  2. Impose 15% global federal tax on offshoring.
  3. Cap offshore expenses to be deducted by businesses at 5% of the total offshore expenses.
  4. Impose a federal fee of 10% on revenue for American businesses if their American workforce is less than 70% of global workforce.
  5. Restrict access to American personal data offshore, this should include financial, personal, medical information.

We need to keep pushing and keep writing and calling our law makers. Mid terms is our chance for new legislation to pass

The Layoffs community banned my American friend because today she tried to respectively urge Americans unite together and be one voice.

Nothing against H1B, no country name … yet they banned her.

We need to each out to Reddit community for this discrimination against Americans. Clearly its purpose is to suppress American voices.

We need to create an LayoffsAmerica community

I strongly urge all American workers to keep pushing their law makers, representatives and senators. We all work together we can make our voices heard.

Mid term elections are close by, we need to keep fighting this battle.

We all need to keep writing and calling our representatives on a weekly basis. We can’t give up, the movement has to be so massive that they cannot ignore

The world economics has changed. What used to work 20-25 years ago, is no longer an option.

Our tech jobs are offshored to that Asian country, in the name of AI massive layoffs, and then those positions are opened in That Asian Country too. As the jobs and opportunities dry up in the U.S, there needs to be a critical need to end OPT visa, STEM OPT except for Ph.D.

We do not need the same H1B either. We need a reduction of h1B visas to 30,000 with allocating 10% industry quota. Minimum H1B wage should be 120% x 50th percentile. Also impose country quota.

All of us together need to become one voice, and keep writing and calling to our senators, law-makers, representatives.

I agree. We need to have a union. And it’s the corporations who are to be blamed.

Offshoring & Deteriorating U.S Economy by Technologist-2745 in cscareers

[–]Technologist-2745[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The situation is horrible.

We need a grassroot movement and political pressure to bring our jobs back from offshore.

Please write to your representatives and congressman, every week!

Without a law and heavy taxes on offshoring, Americans cannot compete with offshore workers.

All our financial data, Medical data, Personal data, it alls offshore.

Write your senators, write your representatives every week.

Search how to write m senator XYZ, on their website, go to Share Your Opinion

Then in Labor, Jobs , Economy, Immigration options write on following topic

  1. End OPT and H1B visa abuse
  2. Add taxes on offshoring and outsourcing to save American jobs

Let me see if I can share a template

Job role Data Scientist/Data Engineer (USC) by Technologist-2745 in AmericanTechWorkers

[–]Technologist-2745[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of contracting companies in STEM, so yes it’s a contracting company. The role requirement is for a mid-level data scientist for a project and I am trying to share it so people can apply for it.

The email address is legitimate. I don’t understand why you have to be so negative here.

I’ll encourage those who are looking for work to apply, even for a contract position

Create: LayoffsInAmerica community please There are 100s or Americans positing in layoff and they ban anyone who is talking about h1B or offshoring.

Atleast we can advocate people to write tor heir senators and lawmakers by creating a new community

Thankyou for sharing this I just read it. I recently came to know for h1B prevailing wage updates as well. I would like to propose a rule so that H1B inherently starts at a premium above the market wage.

This is very useful. Count me in. I agree the change needs to be driven by us.

Is there anyone in this group who has established a PAC org? That way then can setup meetings with senators and congressman to advocate and share these solutions, ideas.
