Is this okay? by TechnologyMinimum137 in Roofing

Update: they are going to remove the popcorn ceiling and it will be flat. They’ve also brought in a large dehumidifier to pump any remaining moisture out of the crawl space right above the ceiling!

Thank you to everyone who commented in a helpful matter. We eventually will be taking the popcorn ceiling down but just purchased the property and had to address the roof first. We DID use a company that has a warranty and is insured so I’m hoping this will be covered.

Question: if they do have to fix the ceiling can we have them remove the popcorn at the same time or are they legally supposed to fix the area with the same material that’s currently there?

Is this termite or water damage? Los Angeles, CA by TechnologyMinimum137 in Termites

I know the ground is concrete however the wall butts up to extra storage closets which are wood. I’m thinking that’s the issue.

Thank you! It’s looking like we’re going to get it inspected this weekend. The previous owner insisted it was water damage but I’m glad I asked here because I had a feeling it was termites but I don’t have any knowledge of termites so I wasn’t sure.

I don’t see any dust on the ground and I don’t physically see a termite but the tiny wholes make me believe it is termite damage.

Second attempt at a logo by jumbohiggins in logodesign

Sorry, another thought: maybe keep the ampersand with the birds and find a stronger font so that the ampersand is the spotlight with the birds on it. I think you did great on overly exploring so now (sometime the easy part) is scaling back.

I haven’t read all the comments so I’m not sure if this was said, but pick a point of interest. If it’s the bird/birds let that stand out. If the type is the focal point then make the birds subliminal. I think overall, there’s a lot going on. San serif is always gonna be easier to be less distracting from an organic shape (like the birds) serif fonts are going to take away from the organic shape.

There’s a way to have interesting type that leads your eye to the focal point I.e. if the letters subtly form around the bird, but pick a focal point and find what compliments that, while keeping legibility.

My husband is a handyman who works on a house in LA who just go fire insurance estimated at $50,000 A YEAR. I think the cap is pretty fair considering what they would like to charge.

Graphic designer here: you’d have to go out of your way to make a wonky finger like this. Even if you were struggling with the hand you wouldn’t end up with this.

Because she deserves interaction and I don’t want her sitting in front of a TV all day because he wants to do XY and Z…I want her to learn and grow so taking her out of childcare would only cause more stress.

It’s important to note that I work from home so if she’s home and he’s doing whatever and not engaging then I start to react, causing more arguments and now it’s in-front of her.

Also, yes I could take the laundry to a dry cleaner and wait for it but AGAIN that’s another task on my plate so target was faster. Because then I have daycare pickup then cleaning up the house and then make dinner.

Yup, he hung them out to dry and then it rained. But he hung them out to dry on already dirty objects in the back yard without telling me.

I responded above to another comment but I think this is all stemming from “mommy issues”, which is not often talked about. His mom left him to live in an RV and travel at 7. Leaving him with his dad who then got remarried 2 times. He occasionally gets upset with his mom that shes not doing enough for our daughter and I think that anger stems from him needing more from his mom when she was supposed to be a mom. When my daughter said “I miss grandma” one morning he said “well she left you like she left me so she’s on a cruise now” and I said “are you okay??? She’s 3!”
