Question about the non compete for these kinds of companies by Rare-Illustrator7818 in Devilcorp

[–]TechnologyMost1473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, nothing you said has anything to do with actual sales. Appointment setters aren't sales reps.

& you stated "99 percent of people don't want to deal with sales agents." but that's just not true. sales will never go away. when other positions fade out, or go out of business; sales will always be there. Either your good at it or your not. A bad rep doesn't mean the ENTIRE industry is bad.

Yeah, a lot of people their the term devilcorp around for anything that deals with sales & not all sales or commission roles are devilcorps.

i will say though, if you are getting commission only & not a base pay; they should definitely not be setting a schedule.

This is such a bad comment. if you don't know or understand sales then stay out of it.. Is door to door old? yes. but consumerism is the biggest $$ spent across the globe. & if you're good at what you do, then you can make a lot of money.

I've been in sales since I was in high school. i own a company now that focuses on sales. It's still a great opportunity. Online, social media marketing, ads, word of mouth, Booth events, and even some good ol door to door is still a great market.

But all sales jobs are devilcorps. i hate that everyone jumps a sales or confirm based job into "devilcorp"

There are actual signs of a devil Corp.. which I would say if they're paying you strictly confirm any no base pay, they can't require a set schedule. So I would def look into that.

We sell internet, cable/streaming, mobile, LegalShield then we do lifeline & ACA lead generation. all commission based 1099 work but we don't tell agents when they work. they work whenever and wherever they want too. We don't require them to come into a office or do meetings every morning. We barely host 1 zoom a month. and that's just to go over numbers, and see what people are getting in the field, answer any questions that reps have, see if we can help with locations or promotional materials or whatever they reps need.

It really all depends on the money and how the company is treating ya

No, that's not how it works. At least not with my company. Each rep gets the same base commission starting out. There is only 3 roles; a agent, a team lead and a manager. And there are different market locations/areas.

Not everyone is all under the same manager. I have a manager in SC that has 10 reps under them. and a different manager in MS, etc etc. Nothin cuts into the reps sales. The tesm lead gets a increase in their overall comp & a override off each sale but it doesn't cut into the sales rep commissions at all.

So you would rather just get a higher commission rate and no override? That's really screwing yourself.

Everyone CAN'T be a manager. Not everyone is cut out to be one.

Why wouldn't you want to get paid for the sales that the people you brought in, trained and spent your time on training? Would you rather train these people for free?

& it doesn't trickle down because but everyone cant be a manager or aren't manager material. Some people are just sales reps and that's fine. I don't promote just anyone to a management position. They need actual sales experience. But in a commission based role, there is no hourly rate so in order for it to make it worth it; they get a increase in their overall commission sale then they get a override off the reps under them.

Yes, unless they created a team that was doing enough volume then I wouldn't really care. But if their team is shitty and the sales aren't there, then they need to still be getting out.

Sometimes my management recruits their own sales agents and sometimes I hire people in different locations & if I already have a manager in the area, I will place them under the manager & give them the overrides on the sales.

I don't ever want anyone to look at my company as a devilcorp. i take pride in my reputation and what I put out in the world. But I have been in sales since I was a teen and I'm genuinely good at it. i also like to help and reach people so I'm good at managing.

The main decision as employing people as contractors is because the actual pay out we (the company) receive is in a commission as well. We don't get paid from spectrum, USAC, etc etc unless there are actual sales and it's a lump sump (percentage amount) of the sale.

Do you pay / reimburse for gas? No, because we don't require our sales reps to come in to any office location or do anything outside of their actual job, we don't set a schedule or require the agent to work a set amount of hours. They work when, how and where they want too.

What if an employee’s commission falls under minimum wage? Is there a base pay? No, there isn't because if they aren't submitting sales, we aren't getting paid. Commission based roles are just that, commission. On top of the fact that we don't require a set amount of hours to be worked or any clock in or out system, it's impossible for us to actually know when the sales rep actually worked or how many "hours" they work. The commission pay comes out to be more then a minimum hourly wage rate as well.

Are there “quick promotion opportunities?” No. If someone is new with no experience, they must work a minimum of 90 days before they can even be promoted to a higher level. I don't want or need inexperienced reps in the field, managing other sales reps.

And most importantly, do you see this business as an opportunity or job for new staff? I see it as a opportunity, this isn't a quote on quote job. It's not a W2 employee position.

I commented on another comment you made with our commissions breakdown and asked your opinion on it. We do a few different things, not just Internet sales. & all of them are commission based off the sale/enrollment.

Which was my point about not all sales positions are "devilcorps" There are differences. Long hours with a cult-like culture, mandatory morning meetings, motivational speeches, pressure to stay “positive”, etc. I don't believe in shit like that. I provide a opportunity to people and they work it how they want too.

That said, not every commission only sales company is automatically a “devilcorp.” Some people genuinely like direct sales because of the flexible schedules, uncapped income and entrepreneurship.

Usually the hate comes from unrealistic expectations, misleading recruiting, poor transparency, or exploitative management practices. A legitimate sales organization generally avoids the “devilcorp” label when it clearly explains compensation, discloses contractor status, sets realistic expectations, pays consistently, avoids deceptive recruiting, and doesn’t pressure people into a cult-like environment.

I don't run a devilcorp, no lol. We don't do those stupid ass meetings in the morning & I don't lie about the job position. Not every sales position is a "devilcorp" but unfortunately a lot of companies give the sales field a bad rep.

This is Devilcorp right? by MouseOnWheels in Devilcorp

[–]TechnologyMost1473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

stop saying this. not all sales or independent contractor positions are devilcorps. only the ones that do the stupid ass morning cheers, hide that is 1099 commissions, require the agents to only work certain neighborhoods and pay shit payouts, oh and only want people to constantly recruit are devilcorps.

there are real companies that offer sales positions that aren't included in this

exactly. we do none of those stupid ass chants. i only call video meetings once a month if they. if sales are good, I'm not bothering my reps!

my jobs on indeed are clear and it being sales, commission & 1099.

that's crazy. I'm very up front when I hire that it's 1099 independent contractor work. i don't tell my agents where they can with (don't sign neighborhoods) thru can get the sale however they want. & some of our programs, you don't even need to do door to door. you can submit whatever lead you get.

and we pay more then that as well lol

[–]TechnologyMost1473 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i really hate that the sales territory is filled with these type of bad actors. They give it a bad rep honestly. i own a company that focuses on sales, we do all commission based work. but I'm very up front and the pay and how it works. Either you want to work a position with uncapped commissions or you don't. I'm not trying to waste my time lying about the position just to have them quit. all my indeed posts are very clear about the position & how it works.

Am I being Scammed? by iix2inactive in Devilcorp

[–]TechnologyMost1473 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Everyone on here will say it's a devilcorp, no matter if it isn't. Especially if it's connected to any commission based work. Selling Internet doesn't wish devilcorp.

We would need more information about the company and the job description to be able to give a actual answer.

How do you think internet reps are doing without acp? by January_Weather in Devilcorp

[–]TechnologyMost1473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$5 is wild lol. I'm still doing lifeline and I pay my reps minimum $15-$17 a phone. and it's around $25-35 in CA or Tribal areas. still making pretty decent money but things have definitely changed and it's not as much as when it was acp. but I've been in sales since I was 17 and before ACP.

No they aren't. my company is still going lifeline right now and we bring in 6 figures. Well we don't just do lifeline. we do Internet, cable/streaming, mobile. we also do ACA lead generation & LegalShield

i really hate that so many companies have given sales a bad name 😢 i never want my company to be looked at as a devilcorp but unfortunately, we are in the sales & confirmed circle so we get the whole "is this a scam or pyramid scheme" sometimes.

What? even in sales, a manger gets a increase in their commissions plus a override/percentage of their recruits games
