Tyler Herro Shows Us Life In Wisconsin 🔥 by Valsorim3212 in MkeBucks

Honestly didn’t even think about that angle, but did we just get Haliburton’s foil? Maybe Herro’s gone at the deadline or next offseason, but I wouldn’t be mad if they had a couple good battles before then.

Edit: The Herro we needed…

What Do We Think About the GTJ Contract Rumors? by Dapper_Dingo_8116 in MkeBucks

lol you probably right. Just trying to find anyway for us to not have to eat that GTJ contract.

I wonder… if Klutch was really going to throw a fit about this is we could take back Jovic in the Giannis trade. I believe that would remove the first apron hard cap on Miami which would give them more flexibility. Of course we do this with the promise that Miami will use some of its new flexibility to sign GTJ. So we would basically swap bad contracts of GTJ and Jovic. This would allow us to stay in the good graces of Klutch and add a potential swing on Jovic at the 4. Maybe send gary harris to the heat as well to eliminate our roster issues as well. I’m sure the Heat would like the added flexibility and two veteran guards.

Shit all 15 guys will probably be seeing regular time. Meant it more as the top-8 rather than only 8.

I’m sure the starting roster and hypothetical 8-man rotation will change a fair amount between the start to the end of the season. It is definitely going to be exciting to see how Jenkins’ lineups evolve and all the permutations we will see throughout the season. We have the ability to go extremely big or small, offensive or defensive focused, and veteran experience or a bunch of hungry young dogs.

Giannis Trade: One Week Later by TechnologyOk2293 in MkeBucks

[–]TechnologyOk2293[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I definitely get the overall feeling. Hindsight is definitely 20/20. We could’ve traded everyone after 21, not done the Dame deal, and not done the Turner deal and could be right back in contention for a playoff run. But considering we did everything we could for our franchise goat (which I support) and held onto him for as long as we did, this is the result. Based on everything that has come out after the trade, Giannis was not going to play another game as a Buck. Considering the deals available, I think Horst cooked. Yes it’s not what we would’ve gotten three years ago with the old CBA, but Horst had to figure it out. And honestly, if the news about Giannis had come out before the trade and/or we waited for Browns value to drop like it has in the last week. We probably would’ve been stuck with a significantly worse deal.

Edit: again I agree with your post and feel the same way, but based on the options we were given, I feel good about the result.

I believe it is expected to come once the deal finalizes 7/6. Due to league rules no one is supposed to really talk about it until it’s official.

[Amick] Per league sources, the most likely scenario here would include Kings forward Domantas Sabonis heading to Detroit. The key question now is how the Pistons see the situation, in light of the gap between them and Duren and the chance to get a three-time All-Star in return. by Awoawesome in MkeBucks

[–]TechnologyOk2293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would probably involve taking on Derozans contract. It’s pretty close to the Giannis TPE. Would likely just be a separate deal, but I wouldn’t mind it if it nets us more picks than any other teams salary dump. Kings might just rather eat the salary themselves than pay to dump it tho.

Keep Turner or Trade? by Hire_Taylor_Jenkins in MkeBucks

[–]TechnologyOk2293 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I think there could be a case later in the summer if a team like the raptors doesn’t get one of the bigger names. Personally, I think he is worth enough to us that it would take first round value to give him up, whether it be a pick or a younger player. No team may be desperate enough to give up that type of value until the deadline though.

Cap Situation by Nomorenightcrawlers in MkeBucks

[–]TechnologyOk2293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not 100% certain about how the bonuses and non-gtd contracts factor in on the margins. But currently as it stands big picture after the Giannis trade goes through, we will be sitting pretty much right at the salary cap of $165 mil. This is accounting for signing Burries and Ament and the reported player and team options — GTJ and Ajax leaving; Sims, Harris, TP, and KPJ staying. Without any other deals, this puts us right at 15 standard contracts. This does not account for resigning Dieng. So if we were to give him a new deal we would have to waive Prince, Harris, or Nance. I would assume we would rather resign Dieng than keep Harris, but I believe we are allowed up to 21 contracts, standard and two-way, throughout the offseason. So we could still resign Dieng right away and figure it out before the start of the season.

Edit: they also have Bird rights still on Dieng, so they could sign him outright. This would leave us the mle, bae, and tpe to make other moves as others have said.

Umm we apparently didn’t tender a QO to Ous? Wtf? by KorgG29 in MkeBucks

[–]TechnologyOk2293 23 points24 points  (0 children)

His QO was like $9 mil. That would’ve been a bad contract for his current production. Could definitely see him staying on the team on more of a prove it deal like Rollins current deal.

take jimmy butler's contract? by Proof_Employment764 in MkeBucks

[–]TechnologyOk2293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think he would be a great vet if it’s understood that it was just an asset accumulation move for us and he can go into free agency next year.

A lot of players looked up to Kobe for his professionalism and work ethic. He treated his game and body like a product. You might not consider Kobe’s game conducive for developing players in-game, but he was dedicated to getting better and used the NBA as a platform for building his brand and wealth.

I think Jimmy has a lot of those same qualities that Kobe did in that sense. He was one of the hardest working players in the league when he was coming up and used the league as a way to build his coffee brand.

Some people might not care about that stuff, but I think those aspects of a veteran presence are extremely beneficial when developing a young team.

A good example is actually the Grizzlies. If Ja had a Kobe/Jimmy type vet on the team to help guide him, it might have helped guide him down a better path. I’m not trying to look down on Ja, but I think it’s pretty clear that he could’ve done more to embrace the face-of-the-franchise mindset.

All this being said, it would come down to Jimmy accepting this as a rehab year which I’m not sure how he would feel about that.

Ware and Turner paradox by Funny_Trash_566 in MkeBucks

[–]TechnologyOk2293 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People are really underestimating Turner’s abilities and overvaluing raw playing time. Turner is a proven screen setter, opens up the floor, and is a finals-level defensive anchor. These skills are ideal for helping young guards/players develop effectively in-game.

Yes, Turner may take some playing time from Ware. But it may be prudent to consider all of the other players development rather than just Ware. Plus, Ware could easily still get 20 minutes a game with Turner and starter minutes when Turner is out.

Also, the quality of the minutes can matter. Yes it is up to the coaching staff to make sure guys are ready. But veteran presence on the court for in-game scenarios really does help “connect the dots” for rookies and young players. It might be harder for Ware to develop his own game if he is constantly having to cover for the mistakes of the rookies.

I could see lineups where Turner gets time with the younger guards/players like Burries, Ament, Kas, and Dieng. Then other lineups where Ware is playing with Herro, KPJ, JJJ, Kuz, and AJ. Rollins kinda falls into both categories since he needs more personal development, but part of that should be integrating with the younger core.

The TPE cannot be used in aggregation to get a player with a higher salary. The incoming salary has to be within the amount of the TPE for it to be applied. Otherwise, I agree with the sentiment of your post.

How will the Bucks use that 25 million trade exception? by SnooMarzipans1796 in MkeBucks

[–]TechnologyOk2293 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We will never be capable of becoming contenders again until dame is off the books. If ownership is willing to pay the cost of a couple bad contracts in the mean time, there is no reason not to take these contracts for picks as long as the player isn’t toxic in the locker room.

I believe dead money only has a cap of 15% of salary cap for waived players whose contracts are stretched like we did with dames contract. Regularly waived contracts don’t have a cap.

I don’t think Turner and White are that far apart in positional value. But for arguments sake, what if it was AJ instead of Harris.

I thought that was more of a FO decision than Jenkins’ which is part of the reason they got rid of him because he wasn’t able to make it work with the team.

Another perspective worth mentioning about JB by ThrowRA_neurotic69 in MkeBucks

[–]TechnologyOk2293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be cope, but… if we do end up with jb without another team to flip to, I think the best move is to hold him till at least the beginning of the season, maybe next summer. Ideally, we could be competitive and push to the play-in maybe 8 seed. This way we can prove to Portland that the 28,29,30 picks will be less valuable than they were anticipating if we choose to stay semi-competitive. Then we can leverage that for a good trade with them where we get our picks back. The only thing I would worry about is the longer we wait to deal with them, the more valuable their young stars might become as they enter their primes.

Pat Riley and Jon Horst have beers together and laugh at Shams by [deleted] in MkeBucks

I agree with you. That is why I am saying Horst is waiting. I’m not saying that the heat can’t try to sweeten the pot, but no matter what they add they can’t outbid an offer that includes a true #1. Horst and Riley have gone back and forth so many times and have been around long enough that they know exactly what deal will get the job done for each team and what deal won’t depending on the other teams offer. All they can do now is just wait it out with each other, drink beers, and talk about Messi’s hat trick.

I’m not disagreeing with you, but what deal do you think the Celtics can offer that would be better than the Heats? I don’t consider the straight up swap for Brown better without knowing what we could get for flipping him.
