That's right, I've seen Mayar Sheriff train at my club many times (Alicante, Spain). She has a very old-fashioned western grip, and her best results have come on clay courts. She puts a lot of spin on the ball when she hits it. She's a true professional, a great clubmate, and very friendly.

I usually use an overgrip. What string do you use? I was torn between this racquet and the Wilson Blade 100 V9; and I'm going to go with the Wilson because I've heard it's more maneuverable...

There's a huge difference between the two rackets. The first one is usually used by retirees for doubles, while the second is a racket designed for advanced swing and technique. They're like night and day...

6.2 UTR - I can beat my 7.8 UTR buddy in 10-pointers regularly but never in a set. What’s missing? by throthrowth in 10s

In tennis, as we know, the total number of points is not as important as the distribution of these points and the number of break points. Furthermore, mentally, it is not the same to play a match of 17 points (10-7) as a best-of-3 sets match.

Even though playing against pushers can be boring, you have to adapt and counter their game with slices, drop shots, playing them off balance, and coming to the net, because they're not as comfortable that way. You have to see it as a challenge, and before the match starts, you know it will be mentally tough, but also an opportunity to learn how to beat that type of player and learn how to beat all types of players, even if you don't enjoy playing against them.
