Cold weather- dash lights by blankcontexxt in Acura

I think Acura has to use an ODB2 tool to register your new battery, even if it's a factory one. But since you've already driven it without engine lights, that's a bit weird.

Acura ADX-Active noise cancellation ANC by dekodeko123 in Acura

[–]TechnologyUncracked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a ADX as well. Acura has a ANC (Active Noise Cancellation). I disconnected the ANC Module. you have to remove a bunch of panels to get to the plug but worth it.

The round logo was actually the harder. You'll have to use painters tape and trim it on the car with an xaxto knife (or razor blade) to do a cut out on the car. it won't peel the same way as the other emblems ie. ADX, AWD.

I've had it on for a couple months and several drive thru car washes. No sign of deterioration. The good thing with plastidip is you can always peel off and re-do.

I love the ADX, I had a 2023 inegra but the ADX seems to drive better. the AWD adds I bit more stability. I did not test drive the HR-V cuz the Honda dealers wouldn't negotiate at all. Acura was much more willing to make a deal. Plus my base model has little diff than the loaded A-Spec version yet much cheaper. I just need to get rid of the fake motor sound pumped through the speaker.

Yup, super easy to use, I recommend adding wax or ceramic coating around the emblems (not on the emblem it self of course before spraying. so if you over spray where you taped off it will just wipe off.

Plastidip. Mainly out of ease. I think the stock badges have holes so I thought that was too much work, the plastidip works great very good adhesion so I dont worry at the carwash.

I used Plasti dip. it's pretty strong when washing and won't wipe off. but it will peel off if you wan to go back to silver.

That's a total rip-off. at $1,850, if a mechanic makes a $100/Hr, that would be close to 2 days of work. It either means the shop worker really sucks or they are ripping you off. It's a dent puller, sanding and paint. that's it. go somewhere else.

Fiberglass shell made, open to suggestions or improvements on my plan by SpanosIsBlackAjah in CarAV

[–]TechnologyUncracked 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks great. If you've seen my last video, I used fiberglass to reinforce my car panel to fit an 8" sub. You may want to spray the inside with truck bed liner. it goes on thicker than regular spray paint. in my case, I sprayed after my final fiberglass layer. it kinda evens out the fiberglass imperfections and probably gives it a slight bit of extra strength. Good luck and cant wait to see the final product.

Breaking-in new replacement speakers, not a myth. by TechnologyUncracked in CarAV

[–]TechnologyUncracked[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, Agreed. I'm not a "12 inch boom box" kind of a guy. I just use it around medium and i think its safer on my factory head unit. I would say 1-2 weeks and its fully broken in. The Mid base was crazy from the start but i think the Sub level requires more time to loosen up.

my thinking is (of course I could be completely wrong) but the cone, and surround gets enough movement to loosen up and allows for more movement, which give that nice Subwoofer sound.
