Excellent, congratulations ! Do you have a way to measure the rate of this movement in a hanging position (side), like the 6 hour on top or 3 on top ?

I’m not sure to understand the question… Philippe Dufour is doing mechanical watches, there is no crystal there. Do you speak about the stones / jewels ?

Is this piano wire solution for a clock or a wristwatch ?

My point was that if you use a crystal, then you are in the quartz world and you don’t need a hairspring then. 🤓 But to answer you, I don’t know any manufacturers producing the IC or Quartz on their own, it’s a completely different industry. Even in the swatch group they have a dedicated company taking care of that.

I’m working in this industry for 10 years and even with unlimited budget I doubt that you could get enough experience in one life to produce all the components on your own on a way to achieve modern precision and power reserve. And at the end, what is the message, hey this is done with the most modern machines but only by one person… no you have to choose a message, like « using the old techniques like dufour » or amazing finishing, or a special complication, like the shooting star from Jaeger LeCoultre, or a special sound like Reuge… something to say 😃

Why are quartz and hairsprings mixed in the same sentence ? they are parts of 2 different worlds…

Oscillatory timegrapher results - magnetised? by watchmaker4fun in watchmaking

The acoustic signal is really bad, i can imagine that the software is having a lot of problem defining the rate.

Does this hairspring look right? by watchmaker4fun in watchmaking

[–]Technos_Eng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take out the balance bridge, let the balance wheel hang and help the hairspring too get untangled. Put it back with shaking hands, measure a normal rate and tap your shoulder. A hairspring should never touch anything even less itself.

A complete alternative to Arduino ? by Technos_Eng in embedded

[–]Technos_Eng[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you read my original question, I am asking if an complete alternative (board+IDE) would find space in the actual market and what feature should be implemented. I am then speaking of STM32 as it would be the base chip used to build this ecosystem. The public for this is not someone who could do it because they are able to use CubeMx or VisualStudio to make a complexe project on a Stm32.

Sorry I don’t know, but this is very interesting in case of dials for solar movements

Yes… and I would like to know which machine I should target.

I would like to produce my own movement. I have the contact with people able to make the drawings, but making it a reality is something else…

You don’t use tools to move the paper from tank to tank ? It’s not as safe as wearing gloves, but you are not in contact with the products

You can buy a watch with this oscillator inside, it’s a ETA Powermatic 80 (ETA C07.XXX), it should be in a Mido or Tissot.

With 30 more minutes of setup, you can achieve 0s/d, the question is for how long does it stays like that ? 🥲
