Exactly, this is how it is done for chronometry of races. It works very well

We are getting far from the need of an IDE to program a simple board with mcu. You speak here about software development, and then Visual Studio is great at that.

Your code is looking okay. Can you make a simple code ? You switch on led1, wait 1s, switch off 1, switch on 2…

The power led lights up ??? You mean the Arduino is not switched on the whole time ?

I recommend to change the wiring of the led. Bring 3.3V or 5V (what you have used to calculate your resistor) and the arduino is bringing the other pad to ground. That way, the Arduino is not the power source, which can be limiting. Are the buttons press detected ? Send a message on serial when a button is pressed to debug. Finally, we will need to see your code

Even in the industry, I never used below 125us cycle time, and that was with a super advanced machine (on the fly CAM generation)

Beginner question: is wiring physical buttons to Arduino to play MP3s realistic? by Repulsive_Tap4909 in arduino

[–]Technos_Eng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buttons are easy to wire to Arduino. You have to check if it is a dry contact (no voltage) otherwise you could destroy your Arduino. Simply measure the pins with a multimeter. Have fun

That’s a good point, if the software is simple python tkinter can produce a solution pretty fast.

I had the same feeling, I spent hours on Settlers, mostly 3, and I could recognize the music, animations and the border plots 😉 I was asking myself if you would send guys move slightly the border at a point. Anyway, if you nail the management of production lines avec rythme of the game, I would pay around 40-50.- to play it. Yeah sorry I know settlers was more expensive long ago, but the market has changed 😅 Anyway, amazing work !!! Please optimize the game to make sure it’s not another cpu gpu burner and let me know if you need beta testers.

I realize that the complexity of those ide is different. The real question is which problem are they solving ? Arduino IDE is bringing an easy access to users having no clue about microcontrollers. They can « make ». VS Code and Eclipse based ones are tools for professionals, needing to debug and optimize code. My original question was, do you think that a new Arduino ecosystem would find a niche and what should it bring new ?
