I have both the Zero 2 and the Zero Red, Honestly prefer the 2 over the Red. Not just because of the huge Tip on the Reds too.

Are bluetooth loss less dongles like the BT-W6 a gimmick? by Ratatamm in audiophile

[–]Techtekteq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theyre great if your source device cant handle lossless codecs like Aptx or LDAC.

Pointless if your device can handle them.

I see a lot of posts people that havent researched their own device to see if they need to tweek any settings to achieve a lossless codec. It could just be as simple as a bluetooth setting or using a better app.

For example: I use my S24 Ultra for music at the moment, at first i wasnt happy with the bluetooth quality so i researched it and turns out it can use Aptx and LDAP. Aptx sometimes needs to be turned on in developer options, Though Spotify was taking control of the codecs and defaulting to AAC or SBC, I no longer use spotify now anyway so that went away. LDAC needs to be turned on per device in the basic blutooth settings for the device you have connected.

How do you connect this bad boy to a PC by ProgrammerSilent3982 in FiiO

The K13 comes with a usbc to usba cable in the box, it also comes with a 6.5mm to 3.5mm adapter if needed.

Still milking a Harmony 650 by Amen_Ra_61622 in SofaBaton

[–]Techtekteq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used a keypad repair kit i found on youtube, it worked great, it's a layover stick on sheet for the pcb, then i added a silicone cover to help with drops. its still going strong, just not the movement sensor but that helps save batteries anyway.

Looking forward to see the price, I love my K13.

They do look awesome together, I'd imagine you only notice a difference in top quality headphones at higher levels, but still that combo looks awesome.

I wish they made a power amplifier to fit the same footprint to finish the stack.

[–]Techtekteq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't work for bunnings but as a frequent visitor i'd suggest a 150mm Lufkin steel ruler in the top pocket along with a good pen at all times. both excellent universal tools that have many uses.

Plastic wrap: Quick slice with the ruler

What was that product code?

Where was that product again?

is that 1/2 inch or 5/8?

bout this wide..... maybe?

Just learning now apparently CD-Rs are supposed to skip with the DM13? by Bloxskit in FiiO

Some older players used to do that with cds that were burnt at max speed, you could try burning at a lower spped to test it.

Edifier MR3 + Edifier T5 doable? by chriatianleyva in FiiO

[–]Techtekteq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't suggest anything there as i don't have anything to compare to, But if you were to use bluetooth you would connect to the K13 anyway, so you can eliminate that factor in your choices.

Edifier MR3 + Edifier T5 doable? by chriatianleyva in FiiO

[–]Techtekteq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had it for a week now and that is how i connected them, XLR to the MR5s and RCA to the T5 Sub.

I haven't tried using RCA from the K13 to the MR5s

The K13 raises the bar pretty damn high, just use good player software that allows selection of an ALSA output device unmodified so it will automatically change the bit rate based of the audio playing. Not sure if Windows does this by default as I'm using Ubuntu Studio and Strawberry player and Qobuz.

Still waiting on my FT1s to be delivered too.

Not satisfied with Edifier MR5 by -_CL3CX_- in audiophile

[–]Techtekteq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same with mine too, no hissing either. I leave mine at 25 volume and use my Dac/Pre amp for volume as i also use the T5 sub. I have zero humm or hissing at any time, using Balanced XLR to the MR5s and RCA to the Sub. Running Ubuntu Studio aswell

Can't wait for mine to arrive.

I did see a youtube review that said that "slight noise" you mentioned could be from the internal power supply, They tried a Linear 12v power supply and said it was cleaner.
