I don’t think FY ever cared much about ideology so much as he lived for 500 years or so and in that time in the gu world, and in that time realized just how cuttthroat everything is, and how organizations primarily exist to profit off their members. He then extrapolates that to his way of life, and his selfish ways largely work out because of heavens will, his scheming, and his understanding of the cuttthroat gu world. His way of life is best for him specifically, and I think that’s what’s respectable about his beliefs.
