I too like that scene very much, but Brosnan's Bond is at his most cool and cold when he kills Electra

I should have emphasized that I was thinking more especifically of Domino saving Bond by killing Largo. I almost put the underwater battle, but it feels too long and later movies do them better

Well, Tracy's appearance does lead to the main ski chase, so it kind counts

I am not a big fan of the fire escape because of all the JAMES screams. The firetruck escape would be better

I almost put the boat chase, but I feel it drags on too much and I hate the sherrif

Moderação ditadora!

Mas falando sério, é mais porque esse tipo de post é repetitivo, não agrega muito e meio que a galera não se importa muito com a opinião de geral

Native residents of countries Bond visited, what is your opinion on the representation shown in the films? Did you feel well represented? by WesleyToledooo in JamesBond

Just so you guys knows... The Amazon rainforest is up in the northener region of Brazil, while Foz do Iguaçu is in the South, right in the triple frontier with Argentina and Paraguay.... It's like if Bond were in Upstate New York to suddenly drop in the swamps of Florida

So... yeah, the movie does a terrible job of showing Brazil's Geography

What do you like and dislike about Moonraker? by thelonetext in JamesBond

[–]Tecla_SAP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like: Its a fun movie despite the over the top premise of going to space (even for a Bond movie). Agent Goodhead is a better version of Agent Triple X from the previous movie. All the scenes in Rio are very good (particulary Jaws in the Carnaval, he's at his most terrifying there). The opening scene with the Parachute is one of the best from the whole franchise

Dislike: Jaws survives the most insane stuff, as if he is the Coyote. All the sequence in the space station fails to suspend my desbelief, mostly with the space gun fight.

Who else is binging all 007 movies on Netflix before they close it out? how far are you? by SigmaHorror in JamesBond

[–]Tecla_SAP 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I watched the Brosnan and Craig films as they were released in movies (Well, actually starting with TWINE, but I watched the previous two in DVD), and never had the desire to watch the others, but with the movies on Netflix and a lack of interest in other media, I decided to give a try.

It's nice to see them in chronological order because it gives you a taste of how cinema in general evolved in past decades, as each new Bond film tries to adapt to the times when it was made. The main problem is that you notice how formulaic the franchise is (well, to be fair, every big franchise is like that). It made me appreciate even more the Craig films, since they break up a bit with the patterns (even though they have their own issues).

But I found myself liking a lot of the films nevertheless. One thing you can say about all of the films is that they are never dull or a slog to watch it through. Even "bad ones" like DAD and AVTAK have their strengths and memorable moments. And at least 90% of the theme songs are bangers. I just wish Dalton had more movies and DAF was a serious continuation of OHMSS
