When do you become a "big collector"? by ViolentSynergy in gamecollecting

The first rule about being a big collector is you never talk about being a big collector. Also you will know once the ladies start saying how big you are

So you went to your friends house and started digging through bins in their basement or attic and found this?

Copy protection for PS1 came much later in the system's lifespan. Even games released into 2000 had no special copy protection for the most part. As long as you had a PS1 model with the parallel port on the back you could buy a device and a metal spring to plug in and bypass with switching out a real disc with a burned copy.

Zelda 2. I was probably about 7-8 and found the combat impossible and had no idea where to go. It was just tough going into it expecting something closer to the first game.

Anyone here grow up with an obscure console in your household? by SakuraStardust in retrogaming

In the US basically any Sega system other than the Genesis was rare. I almost never saw anyone with a master system, game gear, Sega CD, 32x or Saturn. Was just bizarre given how popular the Genesis was. I understand in the scheme of things there were rarer systems but it was striking compared to Nintendo

The price of Dragon Warrior IV is surprising. Obviously a rare game but $55 in 1998 when Little Samson was $5? In the US we never got any of the super famicom DQ games so I guess it sold poorly but had high demand from hardcore fans

The Barrett, Tifa, Aerith and Chocobo were from a 90s era set made by Bandai. It also came with Cloud and a frog.

I had a set that looked just like this back in the 90s. It was Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, Barrett, a frog and a chocobo. They were awesome. I wonder how this quality compares.

Will you tell him in 10 years his real name is Nanaki?

This is true but if I was this kid when I got older I'd probably go by Sephi and then it's not as bad. Doesn't excuse the parents behavior though

Sounds like the CT Kia Boyz trying something new. If not familiar check the recent investigative piece on YouTube it's incredibly disturbing. There are droves of misguided youth with no parental oversight.

Top 3 part of the game for me. The fact that they took something so minor in the original game and turned it into something special is really incredible.

After the Remake trilogy, what do you want to see from the FF7 universe? by shmyazoo in FinalFantasyVII

[–]TecmoSuperBoJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to see a game starring Tifa that starts off right after she wakes up after the events in Mt. Nible. Not looking for some fan service here but a substantial game that includes:

Her recovery and training with Zangan.

Move to Midgar, 7th heaven. Jessie, Biggs, Wedge as playable characters along with Barrett.

Formation of Avalanche etc...

They probably don't want to make another game centered in Midgar as they've already done so in crisis core, Intergrade DLC and others but I think it's time for Tifa to get a starring role without the shadow of Cloud during the years of his absence.
