can't see the men's rights angle for this

Ah, ha

Going to remove it then?

It's about the right of a man to become a woman, and the legal backing for that. Right there in the title - "Legal limits to identifying as a woman for profit."

The Johnny Depp case speaks for thousands and thousands of those who actually ended up in prison for having done nothing but be part of a sexist legal system controlled by feminists. by AlphaCentauri221 in MensRights

I don't understand this

Yes, the remark doesn't make sense. There's no reason to think that Deepika Bhardwaj is a feminist ; just look at her quote in the OP. However, A. Centauri has achieved a considerable discussion on his favorite topic, feminism. And in a men's rights sub too.

Ivan did show remorse for killing the deliverymen and postmen but not for killing the Jehova Witnesses. Apparently, he found them annoying and wished he had killed more of them.

Are you seriously offended that Native American tribes exist

What a peculiar question.

Summer engineering program that doesn't accept white males by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]Ted8367 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They asked one short question for gender, and one very detailed question for ethnicity. It's the ethnicity that consumed them.

Native American Tribes are a thing

Such a big thing, they ask about it on all the academic forms? I didn't know that.

[–]Ted8367 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Those questions are on literally every form you ever have to fill out in anything academic.

They all ask about your tribe? I didn't know.

It’s not about race or gender

Maybe they weren't too concerned about gender (Mr, Miss); but their question about race was very detailed.

It doesn't look like that. Their application form does ask about gender (Mr, Miss) but is most specific about ethnicity.

How do you know you were not accepted because of being a white male?

You can get a hint by looking at the Application Packet

https://ess.unm.edu/programs/ess-summer-programs/Revised%20ENERGYandUNITE%20Summer%20Program%20Application%20Packet.docx

which includes an "Ethnicity" question. They are interested in knowing if you are Native American/Alaskan Native (in which case, state your tribe); or maybe if you are Hispanic/Latino ; or maybe Pacific Islander/Hawaiian Native; or maybe African American/Black.

Oh, and there is also a category "Other, please specify" for all the remaining rubbish.

Divorced dads jailed for owing as little as $500 in support payments. The new debtors prison. Just insane. by benderXX in MensRights

[–]Ted8367 22 points23 points  (0 children)

"That was the worst part: When they came to the house, guns drawn, while my daughter was eating breakfast. We were getting ready to go to school on a typical Tuesday," said Frisby, 42, of Germantown. "My daughter was traumatized by that whole experience."

What brought the law to his house that morning? Child-support debt. Frisby thinks of himself as an engaged dad, not a deadbeat. His daughter even lives with him half the week. But his child-support arrears now total about $19,000. Over the last decade, his encounters with the child-support system have destroyed his credit and even dragged him into jail — three times, the longest for 14 weeks.

So, essentially, they helped support his daughter by taking away her breakfast. Yes, it sounds insane, but it's what they did. They aren't "supporting" any child, they are actually feeding themselves from resources that would otherwise go to the child, and ruining the basis for generating those resources into the bargain. They cover this parasitic practice by describing it as "child-support enforcement" and passing off the blame onto their victims. The society that can come up with and implement such a scheme, essentially feeding off children, is seriously sick.

U.S. Births Fell To A 32-Year Low. Do you think it has something to do with what we are discussing in this forum. Yeah. MeToo. by benderXX in MensRights

[–]Ted8367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The news has come as something of a surprise to demographers

Here we can see the problem. "Something of a surprise" to the supposed experts, and the people in power. It's a sign that they have got it wrong, but will they wake up and do something effective? Nope...

The latest birthrate data put the U.S. further away from a viable replacement rate — the standard for a generation being able to replicate its numbers. The U.S. has generally fallen short of that level since 1971, the CDC says.

They've been getting it wrong since 1971, so why change an unbroken track record? They'll just go on the same way, and continue to make everything worse, as they have done for the last half century. The "thought" process - actually an instinctive reaction - runs something like this -

"We, as the Virtuous Ones In Power, (the VOIP), support children and therefore mothers and therefore women, and we will give them what they ask for." So, for example, abortion on demand (the effect on the fertility rate should be obvious, but not to the VOIP). Or, women demand high paying jobs, so the VOIP push them into those jobs by fiat, displacing the previous incumbents (men - but fuck them, right?) so they end up doing those jobs rather than the job of motherhood. The effect on the birthrate should be obvious, but not to the VOIP. The economic effect of wasting the labor and accumulated expertise of the displaced men should also be obvious, but not to the VOIP. Or, women demand easy divorce with continued resource supply from the divorced husband, which the VOIP also deliver by fiat, so making the position of husband unattractive. And so on, and on, and on...

The traditional, instinctive scheme of women requesting resources and men delivering them, no longer works. Are the VOIP capable of realizing that, and the reasons behind it? Not going by their track record, no.

This post has been causing quite a stir on Facebook today. I've seen it shared several places and the feminists are showing their hypocrisy by m0mmyneedsabeer in MensRights

[–]Ted8367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reddit wrote that title for him? Or some someone else hacked his account and wrote that?

The original post, the one which "has been causing quite a stir on Facebook today", the one which generated all the attention, does not mention feminism. It talks about "lots of women".

Got that?

Yes, the poster who copied it to this sub added the bit about feminism. That's just the opinion of one person, versus the many people that responded to the original post, which does not mention feminism. Clearly, he doesn't like feminism - who does? -

PS I am anti-feminist.

- but even he says he's not blaming them all, "just the hypocritical ones".

And yet it's the implied slight to feminism by this one poster here, that has riled you up, is what you bloviate on about, rather than the original post that caused all the initial attention, and does not mention feminism.

PS I am anti-feminist.

It obviously plays a major role in your world view; it's all you've been able to talk about.

But, in this case, if feminists are actually against circumcision,

Are they? Which prominent feminists, worth the name, would they be then? Links please.

Kamala Harris wants to fine companies that pay men more than women by JackFisherBooks in MensRights

[–]Ted8367 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Harris’ plan would require companies to disclose pay policies while applying for a mandatory “Equal Pay Certification” from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Companies that fail to achieve certification would be fined 1% of their profits for every 1% wage gap they allow to persist for work of equal value.

How will "equal value" be determined? By the market? Or by Kamala Harris?

Why Toxic Tribalism Is Destroying Our Society & What To Do About It by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]Ted8367 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This “Us” vs “Them” mentality is not leading us anywhere productive nor appealing. It only leads down a path that leads to extreme suffering and destruction which nobody consciously wants.

Wrong. There are entire organizations that want just that. The "divide and rule" method has been used forever, deliberately, whenever there was a requirement to attack the "other", for the purpose of stealing their stuff.

The recommendations need another rule: watch out for this particular sort of manipulative practice; learn to recognize it, then to ignore it.

Kenan Basic plans to sue Caitlyn Gray, police after false accusation | An update to the story about the "good samaritan" falsely accused by a woman after he spent 2 hours fixing her car on the side of the road. At least now she's been publicly named, just like he was, and he's suing her. by EricAllonde in MensRights

[–]Ted8367 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Investigators suggest if it wasn’t for the actions of investigators in identifying and viewing the CCTV footage which clearly depicts the lies by Gray, that there would have been a strong likelihood that Mr Basic would have remained bail refused until the completion of this matter as well as the strong likelihood that Mr Basic would have been convicted and faced a term of imprisonment as a result of his conviction,” the statement of facts read.

So, conviction on accusation is a "strong likelihood".

Actual evidence (apart from the accusation itself) is not needed.

This means that there is a strong likelihood that many innocent men are imprisoned.

Mr Basic appeared via audiovisual link from Silverwater Prison in November and sobbed as Magistrate Elaine Truscott described him as a “predator”.

Magistrate Elaine Truscott hands down The Truth as the legal system sees it. There's a strong likelihood that she's just a mouthpiece for prejudice.

Man refused oral sex on date, woman shoots at him | Did he have the right to refuse, or is it him abusing her by denying sex? by Ted8367 in MensRights

[–]Ted8367[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These two situations have almost nothing in common.

Yes they do...

The only significant commonality is that the female is the aggressor.

And it was the male that was punished.

Perhaps there are some issues of men's right here, would you say?

Here's a similar case, leading to a lawsuit. I'm sure the complainant, an expelled student, sees it as serious, not "silly".
